My separate console port is hit and miss with connecting my Android to my display screen. The C works better but still cuts out and turns off my navigation. I can remove the port from console but can't unhook one of the two connection wires so I can replace. One connection unplugged by pulling and the other by grasping somewhere on the connector. The new port is around $150.00 but the labor to unhook will be hundreds.

Any recommendations. Truck out of warranty.

I recently purchased a 2023 model and had the same issue. My model requires a connection via USB cable to use Android Auto. I was experiencing random drops/disconnections as my USB cables (USB-A and USB-C) were randomly disconnecting from the port. Not falling out; just loose enough so that I would drop Android Auto. In reading this forum, I learned that USB port looseness was a common issue.

To address the problem, I did two things. First, I took the end of my USB-A cable and placed two layers of scotch tape around three sides of the metal plug. This provided enough of a "shim" that the cable no longer randomly became loose. I left the cable connected, never unplugging it so the shimming effect would not be lost.

Second, I purchased a wireless CarPlay/Android Auto Adapter. This device plugs into the USB port and converts the connection to wireless, using Bluetooth and WiFi connection from your phone. I purchased a Monster Wireless CarPlay Adapter as it is box-shaped, allowing me to mount it underneath the USB ports using velcro. I also bought a short three-inch USB cable (adding scotch tape to shim) to connect to the box.

Everything is now tucked out of the way, my USB-A cable is secure, and my phone eventually connects to Android Auto as I start the truck. It has been working for the last two months.

This may not be your issue and I hope my story helps.

You can buy the OEM USB hub new on ebay for considerably less than that and replace it yourself in 2-3 minutes.
