USB A or C for Android Auto?

Dumb question, I'm sure, but which is the preferred port to use for Android Auto, since the Maverick has both. Does one sound any better than the other? I'm using a wireless dongle in my Mazda now, but it gets the phone so hot and charging is an issue, so I'm just going to go back to the cord when Maverick arrives.

For calls and music streaming, they will both be fine. I use the USB-A on my Android in the Escape since my wife's iPhone uses the USB-C port. I have the car set up to treat my phone as the primary in her car since if I'm in it, I'm driving and want to use Android Auto. Both ports talk to Sync and she uses Apple Play without issues when I'm not plugged in.

I've had my S22 plugged in via the USB-C since getting my Maverick and have no issues with connecting.

Either port works just the same for Android Auto, so long as you use the ones up front. Ports on the back of the center console (facing the rear seats) are charge-only ports.

That said, the USB-C port may charge faster.

Wireless Charging pad not charging and caused Iphone to over heat. After 1 year to the day, I recieved my Mav and "yes" it was well worth the wait. On a short 170 mile trip, I placed my Iphone on the wireless pad and had a wireless Carplay gadget plugged into the USB A port. All seemed fine then after about an hour and a half Carplay stopped working, the iphone was very hot to touch and the phone's screen said the iphone shut down because of overheating. I noticed that the wireless pad never charged the iphone even though the icon on Carplay indicated that it was charging. After phone cooled down Carplay worked fine, but charging pad never worked. Any ideas. Thanks in advance.

Wireless AA/Carplay can use a lot of power so it may have been charging, but not as much as it was using. Wireless charging isn't very high amperage and inefficient which results in waste heat especially with more intervening materials.
