So, when I plug in my phone then Android Auto comes on and displays. That's fine. But is there a way to turn off Android Auto and return to the standard Ford display temporarily while driving, without needing to disconnect the phone from USB or fool with settings on my phone?

The Ford icon in the Android Auto app grid. Or press the speaker icon next to volume knob which will go to the Ford audio settings and you can navigate from there.
Awesome. Thank you. I'll give it a try tomorrow.

But this prompts a follow-up question. Is there a way to resume Android Auto without pulling and replacing the USB cable?

There will be an Android Auto button on the bottom.
It all works as you described. I'm have no idea how long it would have taken me to figure it out on my own. Thank you again.
