I'm looking for a good cable to use for CarPlay. The cable I currently have at home is an obnoxiously long one that I've used indoors for quite a long time. I don't need a 10 ft cable in the front cubby for CarPlay. I'm wondering what you all use for AA/CP. I'm not interested in the wireless adapter. Any cable or modifications are welcome, of course, bonus points for pictures!

Thanks!

I bought an ankler .5 feet cable. Perfect for plugging in and setting in that “phone holder” spot

Look for one on Amazon that has a right angle USB-C or USB-A connector. It's nice to have that wire come off to the side and tuck around the back, then out underneath to the phone, rather that straight out from the port. Anker is a great brand.

Any braided C-to-C cable will work (braided tends to last longer). 3' is about as short as you can find them but I do have a 6" C-to-C that came with my Sony headphones I actually prefer to use.

Apple brand is most expensive but actually works.

This is what I have as well Its the perfect length to just sit nicely in the "phone spot" and not make you tempted to play with your phone while driving.

Agreed. When I first got my Maverick I used an aftermarket cable and the interaction with the radio was sketchy at times. Replaced it with a genuine apple USB-C cabe and it's been flawless.

monoprice (dot com) has just about any cable you can imagine, and lots of other stuff as well.

Go directly to them, not through a third party.

I do have trouble getting to them...(through my browser Chrome). they are listed in wikipedia, a legit company. in Rancho Cucamonga, California. USA.

When it comes to short cables, I use a coiled cable (think old home telephone cord) The one I have is maybe 7 inches long when coiled up.

I know it’s not always the case but the shorter, the better. I have a 12” cord. Works great. Also make sure it meets your systems specs.

I had bought what I thought was a good cable. But AA kept dropping, sometimes within less than a minute after it started. I'm driving, relying on Waze for directions and oops, dropped again. Bought a new high-speed cable and haven't had a problem since.

So:
First and foremost, it must be a high-speed cable.
And then, make sure the cable you choose isn’t longer than 6 feet.
