Hi there! I took over someone else's Maverick order back in June. The dealer told me over the phone in June that they would sell it to me at MSRP from the original order date. The truck was ordered from AutoNation Ford of Torrace, CA on August 26, 2021. The new Window Sticker says $34,880, but the original order price from August was $32,990. I have a copy of the original order sheet from the person who gave me their order. The dealer has said in the past they would honor the original order price, but last we spoke, they said they would be asking for the new MSRP. Should I mention Smart Vincent? Do you think the dealer will honor the original order MSRP for me since I took over the order from someone else?

The truck has been built and is on its way to the dealer according to Ford. It's a Rapid Red First Edition Hybrid. I'm very excited to buy it!

The dealer will not be getting any "price protection" from Ford, since you are not the person who ordered it. If they did, they would probably lose money on it (the current invoice price is likely over the old MSRP).

Honestly, you're lucky they will sell it to you for current MSRP.

There will be no incentive protection on this vehicle either. That is only if the purchaser is the person who ordered it.

Sign the papers for the current MSRP, grab the keys and get out of there as fast as you can before they change their mind.

That's a screaming deal. Take the truck, sign as fast as you can and don't start laughing with glee until you drive off the lot!

You have no price protection but, from wat I've seen, $2k over isn't bad. And you're getting it now instead of waiting a year. My dealer had a Lariat for about your price with $5k over. Talk with your dealer, perhaps they'll come down a little. Or, let me have it?

Just to be clear, he isn't paying $2k over. He's paying CURRENT MSRP. It's $2K over what MSRP was at the time the original customer placed the order.

It's a screaming price. I have called every Ford dealer with a Maverick within 100 miles of my house and offered MSRP. Haven't had anyone willing to sell me one for that yet...

Maybe see if they will meet you in the middle of the increase since they told you on several occasions that they would sell it at the original MSRP? Worth a shot to negotiate!

Minimum markup here is $5k, just saying.
