I've had my Maverick for a year now. I got a beautiful 2023 XLT Hybrid in Area 51 with only 23K miles on it. Even embraced the Orange by getting some extra accessories to tie it all together. I very much love my truck.

February 22, 2025

My husband took my truck to the dealership for an oil change. After reading it happen so many times here, I jokingly asked him if they tried to buy it. He looked at me strange and I explained what I meant and he said no they didn't...two days later, he gets a call. He tells me, you were right, they want it. I tell him there is no point in going in because they will never be able to make me love a truck as much as the one I had. However, they persisted and we also thought maybe we'd trade my husband's car in and have two Mavericks.

Saturday finds us at the dealership for a very long time. The salesman somehow knows that I am very attached to my discontinued color and doesn't even suggest anything but the very close Azure Gray. To my surprise, I find myself driving a brand new 2025 XLT Hybrid AWD! I knew they made the screens bigger, but I was so underprepared for their actual largeness! and so many upgrades that I didn't have...wireless carplay, heated seats, heated steering wheel, push to start, remote locking tailgate, inverters in the back seat and bed, DC power everywhere, inside blue instead of orange! I know I'm forgetting some, but I was overwhelmed by how much I like the new truck! Then they got my payment to be the same as I was paying for the first, used truck. It was a no brainer...

Don't worry, they made my husband an amazing deal, too, and he got a brand new 2025 Escape. :)

I wish I would have thought to get a picture of them side by side; but, unfortunately, I didn't. AI wasn't a lot of help as apparently they don't know what the front end of a 2025/2026 Maverick looks like. So, I went old school with Microsoft paint:

Ford Maverick Unexpected Upgrade! Dual truck mad

But actually, I found some paint comparison photos on this website that help much better. Go see them at

That's my all time favorite Maverick color. Wish it was available in 2023, I would have got it for my Tremor. Enjoy your new ride! :like:

Very Nice 2025 and the Azure Gray is a nice color and looks kind of like the Area 51 which is also a nice color.

I know your "payment is the same"
Do you mean monthly?
Extended period? How long? Extra time?

Congratulations on your new Maverick! I can't help but notice, that looks an awful lot like Germain Ford B,creek :) That is where I bought mine almost 4 years ago.

impulse purchase!

You go, girl!

hawk, himself susceptible to "shiny"
My father, and unfortunately I inherited it, had shiny object disease. If he went to a car lot back in the day and 1 caught his eye he would within a couple of days be trading for it. I am somewhat cured of it, thanks to a 12 step program. My late wife would slap me whenever I got within 12 steps of a new vehicle.

bingo! Manipulating a monthly payment is a dealers favorite thing to do.

The ST is a nice trim! I got an appointment at my local Ford dealer to see the Explorer ST and the new Explorer Tremor... time will tell!

No worries, boys. I'm not COMPLETELY oblivious. 🤪 Yes, I now have another year of the "same payment." But I look at it like this - I bought the first one used with 23K miles. I work an hour away and put a further 26K on it. They paid off that truck and then some and I am starting over with 0 miles and a sparkly new warranty with way more bells and whistles, which is helpful as I spend a LOT of time in the vehicle. Oh, and I just learned that I needed a new $300 12V battery in the old one. I get that I made the dealership's day, too. That heated steering wheel is something I never knew I needed in life...

I did, indeed, go to Germain. My home dealership. It is only a couple miles away!

You are going to love the heated steering wheel. Super fast heating especially on the cold mornings.
Yeah, I never knew I needed it til I had it. Now, it's kind of mandatory. Same with the Auto heated seats. I've only ever had the manual 3 level controls before, but Auto is the bomb.
