Uneven tailgate cables

I did a quick search on the broader internet and here, but didn't find anything.
My tailgate cables are uneven. The left one has a tiny bit of slack, in either position.
I looked at some videos, and it seems like others are this way as well. Is this intentional?

Some guy just posted saying you have pull out the right taillight and use a cold chisel and bust off the 3 spot welds holding the bolt, grind the bolt clean reinstall adjust and you get no more slack Jack

Just got my truck last night. Add my Mav to the list of tailgates that don’t drop even with the truck bed…

My Ford dealer acquired two replacement cables. The second one did the trick. Apparently, the tailgate/box setup measurements are different between the right and left side. I am glad that there is no slack now on my left side. You should have it fixed because you want to have an even distribution of loads to each cable when you have your tailgate down.
