Underbody Rust?

We are now into Maverick’s fourth model year. Has anyone noticed any unusual rust or flaking under their truck?

The underbody felt does its job for now

2023 bought new in August '23. If I gave her a good bath underneath, it would look like I just drove her off the lot. Been through 2 Michigan winters(with loads of salt), but she got plastered with Fluid Film within a week of signing papers.

My 23 Hybrid was undercoated by Krown the day after I picked it up. At the re-coating appt it was mentioned that I have absolutely no rust, even though I'm in a high-salt, high snow rustbelt area. The unibody design seems to be way more rust-resistant than the body-on-frame construction of the other trucks.

Our 3 year old maverick has typical michigan rust underneath.

I live on the east coast in NL Canada, you can literally watch rust form on uncoated metal. I have used Krown rust control every spring since new along with a desalt application ,no rust on the MAV after three plus years

I’m in the Ottawa Valley and glad to say the same for my ‘22.

Have you ever had sensor issues with Krown coating? I had to replace a temp sensor near the gas tank due to “clogging” up, apparently due to Krown. Of course I had to cover the cost as no one will own up to anything.

Never had any issues with KROWN although i have heard some members have had issues . I Have never had any problems with the MAV other than regular maintenance and service .

X2 Krown rustproofing is the way to go. I had the total job done inside the panels and undercoated.

Did you re-apply the Fluid Film after the first winter?

I do quick touchups in the spring and fall

So I take it that you never undercoated it in an area where undercoating is practically mandatory. Duh!!

Nope,no need,the truck will be fine 10-15 years from now when I get rid of it.
