I've hit mine scraping the windshield.

Yes I know - I could just remote start and let it run until all melted - but sometimes enough ice I gotta help.

But now I know I gotta aim better.
I use a brass blade scraper that works great - except when you miss the edge. I'm sure plastic edge wouldn't have been kind either.
Sure wish there was a plastic shield like on many vehicles.

I did get some touch up paint finally - I need to apply it.

Looks to be caused by chips. When I got PPF applied to my bumper hood edge and fender tips. I did'nt get above my windshield done. Wish I had. I got 1 chip on the passenger side. I think not down to the primer. I think I may buy some rubber windshield molding to place in the gap between the glass and roof. That edge is prone to chips.

I have a 2024 hybrid lariat. When having some detail work done on my truck just over a week ago, the technician pointed out some rust at the edge of the windshield on the passenger side. I took it to a dealership, and Ford said that it was caused by a strike of some kind.

If you look at these photos, you can see that it expands along the edge of the roof and goes toward the center of the windshield and another rust spot.

Since Ford has said no, does anyone have another suggestion. The truck is still under warranty

Now that I have "fixed" my spots to the best of my awful abilities, can anyone suggest any of the clear adhering films I can put over them for extra protection?

23 owner here. I have a couple very small bubbly rust spots right where the top of the windshield meets the roof. Not sure what this is due to, but would love someone with knowledge to chime in.

If this is a Mav problem, where do I go from here? If this is due to stones or something chipping the paint, what is the best way to fix these blemishes?
That's a common spot to damage paint with stone hits on most vehicles. Its a small bodyshop issue, maybe $500 to repaint the roof. Just hang back further and stop getting blasted behind other drivers. Think of the 2-second rule.

I'd be willing to bet that anyone with a "bug guard" will have this problem. They're designed to deflect debris over the windshield and it's hitting this vulnerable area just above the windshield. I just fixed a couple of spots on mine--sanded, primed and painted. To help protect from future damage, I applied a strip of this across the leading edge of the roof, just above the windshield.
The 5/16" size pretty much disappears once applied. I got this from Amazon.
