I've got it. All you need to do is pop both taillights off, and see how much cleaner the passenger side is vs the drivers side.

I live in the Upstate of SC and decided I should have one just to keep the area cleaner and in case I decide to make a trip North to visit during the winter. A few options available now I think.

I decided to do it, cant hurt. Here in NY they use an unbelievable amount of salt on the roads and rusty cars are everywhere so Im gonna give it a try.

Definitely cant hurt, other than cost. I have a 17 year old ram i bought new. No rust issues after 17 michigan winters.

Do they not use salt in your area? We are from Long Island and they have ground water so zero salt, you never see a rusted car anymore down there. Moved just outside Rochester when we retired and couldnt believe the rusty cars up here until I saw the amount of salt they use then I believed it.

Pickup truck beds have open areas in front and behind the rear wheels and have for decades. Some are more prone to rust than others - I keep my pickup trucks Krown rustproofed and it has worked for the three Rangers (my last was a rust free 2008).
If you want to use the kits by all means go ahead. But don't neglect an oil based creeping rust proofing. Just because you cover something up doesn't mean moisture won't get into places you can't see.
