Under console lighting (on the cheap)

Now that it is dark in the morning as I drive to work, I was having a tiny issue at times trying to get my coffee mug back in the holder. For under $10 I picked up a USB LED light. seems to do the trick I just have to decide what colour I want it to be (you can choose from 8).

Amazon Canada. They are about $8.99 each (I bought 2). If you buy a two pack you can get USB-C but I went with USB-A because I wanted the USB-C slot open for my phone.

When FoMoCo deleted the console light, I did what you did. I chose blue to match the other lighting. BTW there are writeups on how to wire in and install an OEM light assembly on this forum.

I got the same and used the adapter for the usb c port since I use the lower one for my wireless android auto. I went with red but I need to figure out how to dim it a bit.

There is a lack of lighting for that area. I would have settled for some lighting in the cup holder so I could see where my coffee goes.

$53.00 total shipped locally. Fully dimmable, took me about 1 & 1/2 hour for install.

I used a 1 & 1/2" led pod per front footwell, 1 single led for the front console cupholders, 1 single led for the front cubby under radio stack and another single led on the rear of the console under the accessory attachment location.

Those USB lights are better than nothing. I couldn't stand how pitch black the interior was at night, same as you I find my coffee mug or cupholders on my morning drives.

I'm very pleased now with my ambient lighting install.

Love those little lights! We have them in both of our trucks. I had to move mine to the rear console so I could free the old-style USB port up for a wireless CarPlay adapter. I set it to cycle through the colors.
