So, so many times you will appreciate having a truck.

Did the same. Also hauled gravel.
I put a large HD tarp inside to keep clean and facilitate easier cleaning.

Spray in bedliner and a power washer works great. If you no not own a power washer a DIY car wash has enough power to spray it out.

Moisture content definitely makes a difference in the weight. Hope you have one of those tailgate hole plugs from Mabett or something similar. Otherwise, you'll be picking mulch out of your tailgate for the foreseeable future. 😬

I do miss my old Ranger's six foot bed when it comes time to haul bulk product.

My neighbor and I learned our lesson about overloading one time. He had a typical small truck trailer with plywood sides. We were loading manure on it with a bucket loader. He had forgotten to check the tire pressures, which were low. We got ambitious and dropped "just one more bucket" of manure onto the trailer. Which then did a pancake as all four tires blew off the rims.

We got to unload the trailer with shovels until it was light enough to re-inflate the tires. Took us days to drive our trucks down, shovel manure off the trailer into the truck bed, go home, shovel the manure out the truck bed. Repeat 5 times each.

Reads like another crappy job, pun intended. If you are going to learn from ones mistakes, might as well make it memorable.

My truck has liner, yes. Using the tarp kept it clean, for most part. After unloading, back truck on slope driveway, hosed out any residue, which was not much. As for the river rocks, some remained, and for that merely swept the bed out.

I prefer using a power washer it doesn't leave any residue, dust or dirt. That's just me, whatever works for you. Just happy to read you are using the truck bed.

That's a life lesson. Overloading never saves time. As my grandfather used to say: "Two trips are faster than one"

I got one of the bed unloaders from HF. Had to trim it 8" to be narrow enough to fit between the Maverick wheel wells, and modify the clamp since the Maverick tailgate is very thick. But for $44 it was worth it and helpful.
