Picking mine up today!
I'm going to need lots of photos, redundant reviews and input on all the minute and mundane details.

I think Texas channels was the best subscribed now! As far the video of you put actually skid plate on the tremor and 2.5 in lift I think it clears the hardest part

In the one video they talk about how they were worried about hitting that radiator bracket...and that is no joke. It sits really low and is barely protected by that plastic skid/bumper area. That to me is going to be a problem - people are going to wreck and bend that area I suspect. The Temor will have better traction in the rear and a better approach angle but the idea of it as a off road vehicle to me is still pretty laughable especially considering the 1" lift. Should be great for some local logging roads with loose dirt but certainly wouldn't take it anywhere I'd normally go with a real locking diff or 33"+ tires :)

Yeah that front "skid" plate protection on the radiator is trash. Unfortunately - I don't think the Mav Tremor is going to warrant much of an aftermarket for parts but if there is one thing I would absolutely want on my Tremor it would be a skid plate up front similar to the Taco TRD. Hopefully someone will come out with that.

Let's be clear - this is not a "rock crawler" but that is not the only form of off roading. Anyone trying to rock crawl this is going to have a bad time. However - the Tremor is not a bad package to start with to make a great little off road truck.

I don't understand the "real" locking diff comment. You probably want to jump out and lock your hubs too? 😜

Ford Ranger Lifts has already done a 2" lift with a 32" tire. but that's as much as you'll get in there without modifying the fender well.

I'll be happy with the AT3 that come on it. It's just under a 31" tire. As stated above, I'd like an upgraded skid plate and I want a proper 2" lift from Fox/King/Bilstein utilizing a longer spring with longer travel shocks (not spacers).

The goal for me won't ever be to rock crawl but rather gain a little extra ground clearance and an even better suspension for handling the back roads.

31"?? am I reading that correctly? I think you're a couple of inches off, pretty sure the Tremor comes with a 29" tire

I was comparing it to something such as a newer Bronco or even my old 79 Chevy (with locking hubs) :) At the 13min mark in this video is where the front just isn't doing anything. The rear diff in the Tremor Maverick will be good for a lot of roads but that example is where having the front be able to grab makes all the "diff" erence.

Speaking of locking hubs - my Chevy at one point had 36 Super Swampers on it and my girlfirend and I were on the way to a fancy dinner and it had just rained and I decided to shortcut through a field that a lot of guys would go mudding in and there were 3-4 newly stuck and abandoned trucks but I went plowing into it because I had the big truck but then I got slowed down and realized I forgot to lock the front. We got stuck and my girlfriend in her fancy dress is yelling all kinds of things at me - I'm an idiot why would I go this way etc etc :) I had to jump out in my dress pants and shoes and it was way above the hubs and lock them in and then got back in just an absolute mess. We had no problem getting out but we had to cancel the dinner plans and she was not happy.

Yeah 29.1" 235/65R17 Falken Wildpeak I believe which would be 0.6" bigger than FX4 28.5" Pirelli and 0.3" clearance increase.

Not to split hairs but it's 29.028" us guys usually overstate when it comes to height  I guess the Falken person who filled out the spec sheet was a dude.

I'd be interested in what an aftermarket fox set-up like that would cost.

I say you’re right. 245/65/17 is just a hair under 30 inches and the Tremor comes with 235s.

From the videos, it seemed drivetrain was capable but perhaps need better protection, more ground clearance and better departure angle. It seemed only thing holding it back was clearance. This off road talk is very new to me.

Really is perfect for what the Maverick is. The Maverick is cheap, sturdy, and most importantly DIY. There was no point in putting real offroad tires on it at the factory when MPG targets exist. But everybody already knows 31s(ish) will fit it. You can do alot with good 31s, ask CJ guys and OG Ranger/Bronco II guys. Its no rock crawler but I would rather get a lil muddy anyway.

My perfect Tremor would/eventually will be 31s Mud Terrain, 1 to 2" spring lift (I think the shocks will be just fine, they are an upgrade with internal bumpstops and we arent running baja are we?), and more skid plate protection. There is already a couple companies making skid plates for the Bronco Sport. I will maybe buy a front one and make midship plates myself. Something also has to be done to keep that plastic scoop attached under the ass end on the truck. Im thinking It just needs a flat bar attached to the hitch and maybe some supports. That would be perfect! Even better if I can find a way to squeeze a Super Swamper Irok on it.

The JCR Offroad stuff for the BS is good quality and reasonably priced, we as a community just need to keep contacting them to convince them to make plates for the Maverick, when I contacted them they said they had no intention of making anything for the Maverick.
