So we bought a used 2015 Ford Flex with 30k miles on it just over 4 years ago. I bought the extended Ford Platinum warranty from Granger. The Flex is a complex vehicle.

We had a weird thrumming noise, irrespective of engine speed. The dealer replaced the PTU, both front axles and hubs. Noise seems to be gone.

I have been RELIGIOUS about changing the PTU fluid at 30k , 60k and we are now at 81k. New PTU.

The warranty has paid for itself 5x over. They also fixed the non functional wiper fluid pump. :)

I plan on adding the extended warranty from Granger when the factory warranty gets close to expiring.
It sucks Ford killed the Flex.

Here is an example of what I am experiencing '22 xlt fx4 4k. So far the dealer has been unable to replicate.... in this video I made sure to keep the throttle pedal in exactly the same position while accelerating.

Buddy of mine at work has a '23 XLT EB with 20k miles and his trans just blew while on the highway at 70mph. He says it's at the dealer getting a whole bunch of new stuff.

I'm going to have to buy an extended warranty for this thing. Mine does all kinds of crazy sh$t when its cold. It bucks and jerks and surges then acts "normal" once its got some heat into it.

Sorry to hear about your transmission. Personally, I have never changed transmission fluid in any vehicle I have owned before. I did it one time on a 1997 Plymouth Breeze when I was younger because a shop told me to do it. After I did it, the transmission was never the same and only lasted about 1000 miles. I think the Mav uses ULV fluid (at least for the 8 speed) I believe.

Yea so 23 Maverick XL Eco. 76,400.1 miles and my transmission cratered on me. had the fluid changed at 60k miles. yes I drive 150 miles a day in West Texas. I don't hot rod or even tow with it. luckily It died in Kerrville so my tow was only a couple miles, bad news a remanufactured transmission is $7300. This Sucks. no option or a new one.
150M a day in texas? That sounds to me like the "severe service" maintenance intervals are called for.
