Patiently waiting for my XLT Lux Hybrid that I know will only come with a standard 4 pin connector for trailer duty. The truck can only handle 1500 lbs max towing capacity which is fine as the trailer I will be towing is under that for sure. The problem is it comes with a 7 pin connector and I was wondering if anyone has added the combo unit that comes on the EB model with the 4K tow package option?

You can purchase a converter to allow the 7pin to work on the 4pin. It will not have trailer braking, but you will have lights.

If your trailer does not have brakes, unlikely at that weight, then you just need a 4 pin to 7 pin adapter.

But if the trailer has a 7 pin, that is an indication that it DOES have brakes. In that case you need to check your state's code on requirements for trailer brakes and whether they need to be used if installed.

Is 1500lbs a Canadian spec vs the U.S..?

My mistake as the max towing amount for the Hybrid is 2000lbs not 1500lbs which is the payload amount. Should work just fine.
