Trailer Length

Looking for an enclosed trailer. I’m debating on buying a 6x10 which would involve a 400 mile round trip or a 6x12 that is 30 minutes away. Anyone here towing a 6x12 enclosed cargo trailer? Empty weight is just shy of 1000lbs, I imagine it’ll be 3000-3500 loaded, well within the 4K tow capacity. This is what it would look like hooked up to the 6x12.

MY recommendation is don't cut yourself short, pun intended, and get the 12 footer. That way you can haul lots of different lengths of lumber and you have more cu. ft. hauling capacity. Even if the price is a little more you won't regret the longer capacity.

The price of the 6x12 is less than the 6x10 and it’s local and wouldn’t require me to drive a long distance to get it.

Make sure you get a 3,500 pound axle. If you plan on it being 3,500 pounds loaded you need a tandem/2 axle trailer.

Misspoke, GVRW is 2990 so it’ll never be loaded close to 3500lbs. But I get what your saying.

inside measure is about 6'10" x 10'6".

3500# rated. I've towed at 3200 just fine

side by side OHV inside plus tools and gear

Agree with all above so get the 12 footer. Most of the time u will not max load it but the extra 2 feet can make all the difference.

Man, that is a beautiful rig! I am surprised at how level your truck sits. So, I have a question: do you have a "pry-bar leveler" on your hookup? I can't remember the details, as it was 50 years ago, but my Dad had a lever on his Chrysler Newport that, when he cranked it up, it would lift up the travel trailer tongue to a level position. Do you have anything like that?

I have a enclosed trailer which is 10x6x 7ft height interior . it has a ramp rear door and side door . also has swing down back jacks so can be loaded while unhooked . use it for hauling motorcycle (drive in) and camping . indoor/outdoor carpeting and fold down Queen bed when mc out . 20 lb propane tank holder on front . wired 120 volt and 12 volt . plus other comfort accessories . weight about 1100lbs + 500lbs for my MC . previously pulled with f150 . maverick not yet , if ever . extra two feet would be nice . camping probably not happening in future .

Not hooked up to the trailer, I just jacked it up at the store and backed up to it to take s a pic of how long it would be.
