Hi there

I'm eventually going to upgrade my wheels/tires and want to know which TPMS sensors are good bang for your buck for the maverick?
I've heard someone mentioned aftermarket ones off ebay, but I can't seem to track down the best ones.

Thanks

I had no issues reusing the stock ones unless you're planning on having 2 sets of wheels, saves some cash

Same here and any new wheel/tire sales outlet will provide you the appropriate sensors and most are in the $40-50 range.

They are 315 MHz, like many other Ford vehicles.

I figure shell out the little bit more than what you will find for "no-name" sensors by sticking with Motorcraft.

$29 ($20 when I bought them) on Amazon. "Motorcraft TPMS35 Tpms Sensor Kit, 1 Pack": https://a.co/d/fdPWtK0

Noticed you are in Canada. Sorry if you get screwed by Amazon Canada.

If you want to pay out the butt (80+ per sensor) for the same exact sensors, feel free to order direct from Ford: HERE

I am thinking about going up in tire size to 245 65 17. Am I also going to need to replace the sensors too?

I had a set of winter wheels for my Subie that had TPMS from Tire Rack - if you do a wheel/tire package from them they'll install when mounting the tires. They worked flawlessly, other than needing to have the car reset every time I swapped wheels.

Nope! The sensors are attached to the valve stem, so they remain in place when swapping tires; no need to replace sensors unless they fail.

Thank you I'll look into it!
I travel to the US a lot so I can always bring back small things with me as long as it can fit in a small bag.

Some of the more cautious/conservative tire shops do not like to swap the sensors from tire to tire/rim to rim. There is always the chance of damaging the sensors. I know mine said they strongly prefer only installing new sensors versus swapping them from one set of tires to another. I provided my own sensors, so this was not a "money grab" situation. Just a heads up to ask your tire shop if they have a policy about "reusing" sensors.

Seems like you can get new stems/seals for the sensors, which would make me think I'd wanna slice the stems off, pull out, cut and pull the old rubber out with needlenose or something, install new stems to assembly... seeming that would be least risk of TPMS sensor damage. Of course have the new rubber parts on hand first and check they look identical. The sensors seem to last anywhere between 5 and 15 years, hard to call.
