I'm probably going with 1/4" metric socket set, a few of the most common metric wrenches, a crescent wrench and channel locks. Ill add fuses, small LED flashlight and a ratcheting screwdriver with multiple bits. I'll think of more I'm sure.
With my past trucks, which were used, abused, and a lot less reliable, I'd carry a bunch of tools and spare parts. I did that even when I got newer trucks that were more reliable and still under warranty. Then I've come to realize that I drove all that crap around for years and rarely needed anything.

Now I dwindled it down to the essentials that all fit in an InstaCrate from Costco. I don't have an entire itemized list, but the ones I know off the top of my head (and thus probably use the most) are:
  • Tub-O-Towels
  • Blue paper shop towels
  • compact 1/4" impact driver
  • Impact socket adapters
  • Trim tool set
  • Utility knife
  • double-ended box wrench set
  • Three sizes of pliers wrench (much better than adjustable wrenches)
  • Zip ties
  • Flush cutters
  • 4-in-1 flip screwdriver
  • Rechargeable flashlight
  • Collapsible 1/2" breaker bar
  • Lug nut flip sockets
  • Couple blocks of wood
  • Lithium jump pack
  • OBD-II reader ($50 one, but it has a 2.8" color screen and can read extended PIDs)
  • Fuse set
  • Hose clamp set
  • Rescue tape
  • Electrical tape
  • Blue painter's tape
  • Scotch Extreme mounting tape
  • Bailing wire
  • Electrical crimp connector set
  • Roll of 4-conductor trailer wiring
Realistically I don't think I've needed to actually use any of that stuff to repair anything. It mostly saves me a trip to retrieve something from somewhere else.

I restore old British sports cars as a hobby. Most of them came with tool kits in the form of a roll up holder. Many were quite complete for the cars of the time. I saw a thread about tools to carry in the maverick from 2021 but when I read the post about carrying a wheel chair I stopped. So the question is, if you were going to make a tool roll for your maverick what would you include?

MG's?

We just have a really large roll that accommodates so much more. Sorry for the confusion.

You are my hero! I always wanted a TC/TD, but I doubt I'd be able to fit it one now.

The TDs are SUVs compared to the Bugeye. I'm 6'-1" and getting in and out of the Sprite with the hardtop on would make Houdini proud. There are a few mods that make the TDs better for the um, larger gentlemen. You can move the seat track back and get a 14" steering wheel. But you still have a footwell made for a ballerina feet. But people love the car and it's a blast to drive. The one pictured above is supercharged.

Right now I have two MG TDs a 51 and a 53 and a 60 Austin Healey (Bugeye) Sprite.

Nice! My dad used to autocross Sprites in the 70s (also had a 240Z, sold before I was old enough to drive it), currently he's restoring an MG Midget 1500 with a 1275cc motor swap.

Still learning the Maverick fitting sizes, on my previous Scion I made sure to have a 10, 12, 14mm long sockets, short with 6" extensions and matching wrenches, stubby Philips and flathead drivers, oil rag, light, and thin mechanics gloves (Harbor Freight knock-off). It had lost a bit of that Toyota reliability once the motor got built and running 12 psi of boost as a daily driver. Still, second trans is holding up after 18 years and retirement as a Sunday driver.

Nice British iron. I've been through 4 Triumphs (2 TR6, TR4a and Spitfire with a GT6 engine) and a couple of Jags (XJS and Mark X). There's definitely something addictive about them.

In addition to the great suggestions above, leather gloves, a hanger, basic voltmeter and/or test light, 24" 170lb cable ties, tire plug tool w/ plugs, and an LED headlamp

Good God Man, MY truck's warranty voided just looking at that tool roll!
According to the driver's manuals I've seen from those days, the manufactures assumed the driver might be taking the head off, adjusting valves and clutch, synchronizing the carbs, relacing inner tubes, greasing the chassis and other roadside maintenance that would be unheard of today. Now you are lucky if they tell you where the fuse box is.
