Does anyone know the quality of the roll up tonneau cover that comes from the Ford Factory. When I had put in my order, there weren't many options readily available or if it all.. Now there are many and I was looking at possibly getting the BAK Revolver X4s.
Pretty sure Bak makes the Ford hard roll up and it’s just marketed under the Rev name. If you’re looking at the X4s, I’d recommend looking at the Sentry CT. Several folks, myself included have that one. I’ve seen way more people complaining about fitment issues with the Bak than with the Sentry CT. Its very well built, the top material is high quality and install is easy

Thank you for the tip. I currently have the soft roll up on my invoice and just don't know the quality. Because before buying it I would just tell them to remove it off the car and I would order one from another company

The bed cover is a hard choice. The ONLY positive out of taking so long to get a Mav is it gives time to weigh all the bed cover options.

I had ruled out the Bak/Rev because of the rear corner caps. Didn’t want to pay that kind of money to have to keep replacing those. And they are easy to pop off and give ā€˜easy’ access for someone to break in. I had thought the security was way better with a hard roll up, but it really isn’t. I saw people gluing them on, but shouldn’t have this issue at that cost. It does get you past the simple knife break in test. Also saw multiple people having issues in the cold with it. It wasn’t clear if the currently shipping Rev has the new style corner caps or not, so I skipped it. Although I still think it is the best looking cover.

I was then down to the Sentry CT and Pro X15. They are the same low profile and same Velcro edges.

I went with Pro X15. Half the cost. It seems it would be easier to take off, when rolled up, because it is lighter. It blocks less of the window and takes up less of the bed, when rolled up. A friend has a similar style cover on his F150 and likes it; so I checked it out before deciding.
Sentry CT does look like it is little easier to roll, but we do have a short bed. It does solve the knife test.
Sentry should not flap when going done the highway.
Sentry should hold more snow weight.

The Pro X15 has a lifetime warranty, the Sentry is 3 or 5yrs (not sure which, point is not lifetime).

In the end, weighing the price and functionality differences, it was Pro X15 for me. Plus the Realtruck video guy, has a Pro X15 on his Mav, so has to be good; right?

It really is person preference thing. Everyone will say why their choice is the best. Really Can’t go wrong with either one.
Just make sure to PM Alex @Realtruck; awesome pricing. I added the tailgate seal to my order as well, great pricing there too. It was here in a couple days.

Can you close the tailgate without opening the cover with the pro x15?

Not really. Don’t think you can with Sentry either. Can with Bak.

In the beginning I felt that being able to do that was a big need. How could I get use to unlatching to to put the tailgate?

After all my researching, and seeing a similar X15 in action on my friend’s truck, I determined it didn’t matter. Not opening tailgate a ton of times.

Sending you a PM now
I too am interested in doing a hard cover with a bed bars. Only thing I found was the Retrax with the T Rail system. Are there other options? I'm not married to a retractable, just wanted a hard cover. Would love to hear what my options are

We are actually working on a right up now, HOWEVER, I can tell you that the Elevate rack system (TS rails and uprights) will work with any flush mount cover (except retractables). If the cover sits on top of the bed rails unfortunately will not work. Now with retractable, if you buy a retractable that has a t-slot rail, Retrax, Pace Edwards, and Roll-n-Lock all have this option, then you would just buy the rack system as it works with the t-slot
I currently have the OEM REV Hard cover Rollup, I was looking to get some sort of rail/elevated bar system. But I heard/Read that it won't work.

That is what I bought too. It works well, but have not gone through a rain storm yet. Super easy to install and it looks great...

Thank you! So you had to install it yourself and it didn't come installed.. that makes it easier to say no you don't want it in the end. Any chance you can provide an update when you experience a heavy storm. I'm sadly and unfortunate slated for the last build before they switch to 2023. What terrible luck. So base on everyone's estimation, I'll probably get mine in November. Just in time for Michigan snow.

Technically you can on the Sentry according to their instructions but they claim it takes time to ā€œtrainā€ the seal. I haven’t even thought about it in mine. Just roll it back a little and shut the tailgate. Agree it really doesn’t matter.

I think you will be happy to get it, as long as you didn’t take anything off you really wanted.
I do not think the private offer will equal the current price protection we have. There has already been 2 price increases since I ordered. I suspect the private offer will just be from the current 22 price to 23 price.

Some dealers will ā€˜buy’ back the bed cover, some won’t. You should be able to check into that now. I thought most of them were installed at the factory though.

Ohh yeah I am most definitely keeping the truck. Just questioning my choices now on the cover. 😁

If anyone was like me up in the air between soft or hard roll up, the Truxedo Pro X15 is great!

@Realtruck write up really helped out and chatting with Alex as well. Thank you for the help and discount btw! 😃
