I have a soft spot in my heart for Firestones on a Ford....just as God intended. ;)
My thoughts exactly. We must be related.

My buddies new 2025 Lariat came with Michelin Defender 2’s. 80,000 plus wear out warranty, they look great.
My AWD is so friggin good I don’t really feel the need for AT’s anymore.

I am looking at the
Goodyear Assurance Maxlife 235/60R 18
30 Lbs
Costs much less, had good luck with Goodyear before.
Man that is bullshit. I got the god awful Goodyear Territory HT with my 2025 Lariat. How did they get the Defender 2s??

I hear ya,
Just to be sure I’ll look again and verify his shoes.
His Lariat had everything and it had the BAP
Package. Do better rubbers come with the BAP ?

I've been looking at the BFG Trail Terrains. They have a more aggressive look, but are still pretty tame as far as tread pattern is concerned. That said, my last truck had Michelin Defender 2's and the damn things last FOREVER. If longevity is a concern, they're worth a look.

My stock Michelin primacy tires are at 12,300 miles. It’s like they stopped wearing out at 7/32’nds.
I climb some really loose when dry road bond #57 up to my cabin. My AWD really shines on the steep sections to the point I don’t need AT’s at all.

We have one section where the Subarus and the Toyota Rav four cannot stop mid climb and restart. They along with every other AWD up here cannot do this. They must back down and start over.

Only true 4x4 pickups and the neighbors Bronco sport and the two Mavericks can stop mid climb and briskly take off without breaking traction. I can do this on my primacy tires. It’s the AWD.

I don’t want to loose mpg’s or have added tread noise. I don’t need AT’s for the look cool factor. I do tend to drive fast on pavement and love to slalom my switchbacks. This type of driving eats All Terrains up fast.

I’m not going to take my AWD Maverick into Jeep terrain and damage it.

The standard AWD system for Ford is mid at best, there is nothing spectacular about it and a Subaru with the same tires as your Maverick would do as well or better.

Michelin CrossClimate 2 excel in essentially everything other than off-road. Three peak mountain snowflake rated as well. I've been very happy with mine. Put them on with 100 miles on my Maverick.
I agree with this. I put CrossClimate2s on the Mazda CX5 Turbo I had before the Maverick and they were great. Quiet, crisp steering, and probably the best tire I've ever had in the rain and snow. Worth the money as they were wearing great when I traded the Mazda in.

just got rid of my Michelin Primacy A/S tires on my 2024 Lariat Hybrid. Not the performance in rain I expected . At 15000 miles I am down to 6/32nds ( tires new were only 8/32's) and nearly lost control of my truck in the rain at 40 MPH on a strait highway due to hydroplaning. At 6/32nds now I do not trust them in the snow or heavy rain. I made a complaint to Michelin and they said they would give me credit on a set of new Michelin Defenders. I went to my Tire Shop and was told Michelin had never reimbursed them for any warranty claim that was approved by Michelin and they lost money working with Michelin b4. Also was advised Michelin does not warranty OEM tires even after I told Michelin they were OEM tires. So I bought a set of General Altimax RT45's (11/32 Tread) $754 including sales tax, out the door then they gave me a rebate form- I will get $80 back. Good deal, great reviews. I will never buy Michelin after this due to price and warranty performance.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they threw some different tires on the BAP package

I thought I read somewhere that the Michelin Defender 2's aren't the greatest in snow? Can you or anyone else in a snowy part of the country chime in on your experience in snow with them?
Well I'm no expert but we've had nothing but success with them up here in CNY

Agreed, it's currently between BFG's and firestone's

If looking at the BFGs you'd be remiss not to consider Falken Wildpeak AT Trail or Nokian Outpost APT

I was heading for the Nokians until my local shop (who couldn't get the Nokians through their supplier) put the Wildpeak AT Trails on for $1100 all said and done with an alignment. I would have been looking at about the same for the Nokians and decided to roll with the Wildpeaks as I've had success with them in the past.

Nokians are much more affordable in the 17" tires.

Time for some new shoes, currently leaning towards Firestone destination AT 2 but open to suggestions. Really just looking for a highway tire that doesn't look like it wasn't made for a Honda Civic, any recommendations appreciated.
Firestone for the win, Thanks for all the suggestions!
