There’s a reason why NASCAR teams all run nitrogen in their tires. They live and die by consistent tire pressure throughout the radical temperature changes they ensure to maintain optimal handling. Nitrogen also reduces the amount of water vapor the air can absorb.
I’ve worked with top tier Cup teams for over 20yrs and there isn’t any advantage they won’t apply to the cars.
Huge difference in speed, read this.

I drive for several local dealers. The manufacturers make the tires hard so they will be less susceptible to damage from rails, transporters. coming off of ships, and hanging around too long. Proper inflation should be done during the PDI (pre-delivery inspection). It is very often ignored,

I have the Pirelli tire on my truck I took delivery of yesterday, the display says they are 45/44psi. I tried to look on the tires for the recommended psi but I can’t focus well enough to read it. I’ll look in the owners manual or maybe on the drivers door.

Ok who’s had their tires over inflated at delivery? Most I would guess..
The factory does that to keep them from flatspotting. My dealer told be they literally bleed and reair every tire. Also they readd fluids every new vehicle.

Mine are showing around 40 PSI right now and sometimes will show as high as 46 PSI when it warms up. I plan on lowering the pressure tomorrow to the recommended level to help smooth out the ride. Shes a bit firm right now lol
