Hi, my XL came with just screwed-in plates over nothing, where the cubbies go in the bed, behind the taillights. From what I understand there should be 'pigtails' on either side so I could later install lights, outlets etc. in that area of the bed. Offhand I don't recall what side comes equipped with the led light or A/C outlet if your Maverick came so equipped; is there any reason to prefer the cubby on one side of the bed or the other for electrical installations?

I'm thinking of ordering the Mabett Bed Cargo Partition Storage Bin, and for now would like to leave one side of the bed for future electrical installs.

LH & RH Cubby 12V come off the same 20 amp fuse.
The RH Cubby 12V Power Point would have some extra wire length as it splices off the harness on the LH side.

The pigtails are behind these plates.

Thank you, that was helpful & I found them. What wiring then is used to put in e.g. an AC outlet or LED light in place of the cubby, and is there a reason owners prefer to install drivers side or passenger side?

This forum member makes really good stuff:

In my case, I put a cigarette lighter socket on the driver side because I already have a 120V receptacle that came with the truck on that side that I could plug a USB charger in if I wanted to.

I put USB A+C sockets on the passenger side so I could conceivably have USB charging there if I am using the 120V or cigarette lighter for other things.
