It ACTUALLY amazes me.....that BUYERS think "they" have the upper hand and tell the dealers they will pay "MSRP" for a vehicle...those days are GONE for a while...if you walk into a dealer, expect to pay OVER MSRP or you are VERY VERY lucky. Simple supply and demand. I am 60 and have bought OVER 2 dozen BRAND NEW fords and you know what...they do not give a shit...no special privilege for me...I am just another customer. So if you think because you "bought a new car or two" that you are "special"....this isn't MOMMY or DADDY...you are NOT special. Simple.

Just in the last 5 years, I have "bought New", 2017 F150, 2018 Transit Coachman freelander motor home, 2018 focus, 2018 ecosport, 2019 F150, 2021 full size bronco recd 10/28, 2022 maverick recd 12/23....also have another maverick ordered, plus a first hour F150 lightning ordered....and you know what....they do NOT care...no special treatment for me.
Buyers always have the upper hand. We have the ability to choose where to spend our money. I am 40 years old have have bought well over 4 dozen vehicles in the last 24 years. Personal and business transactions. I've purchased new off the lot, ordered, fly and drive, etc. Dealers need to sell a vehicle to keep the lights on. That gives the customers the upper hand. The only time the customer is squeezed is when they want a specialty vehicle with limited production. No one NEEDs a maverick. The lots are currently filled with F150s. An F150 for $40K vs a Maverick marked up to $40K is a no brainer.

WRONG...on several instances...first YOU would be buying them at msrp for your workers IF you could...but you can't, so you DON'T have the upper hand.....AND you DO need a specialty vehicle like the maverick...you said it yourself. yes...when it was a "buyers market"....WE had the upper hand...NOW it is a SELLERS market....c'mon...you DO understand that, right?

Wrong. Read my previous post. I just purchased a 1/2 ton Ram UNDER MSRP. Maverick is not a work vehicle. In fact I am selling mine because it's too small for a work vehicle. I was going to buy some of the small Transits. But guess what, they are marking them up. Guess what ISN'T being marked up everywhere- Small trucks and Regular cab 1/2 Tons. I can buy one of those with a work cap and have the same amount of storage and better resale....for the same price. That gives ME the upper hand. I can choose not to buy Transit Connect for over MSRP and I can buy a different vehicle that still fits our needs for less money/not over MSRP.

Only two types of people paying ADM. Rich people and impatient people. Neither will stop buying. Ford is going to do what they have been doing about it so far…nothing.
100% false. I don't fit either of those categories- not rich or (too) impatient. I do however understand supply & demand and basic economics- AND have a budget I stick to. I always had a good work ethic, lived within my means, and saved for my future using workplace retirement plan choices available to me. Had some luck along the way too. Retired 8 years ago at age 56 and lucked out with no inflation and strong stock market gains protecting principal in my accounts until I was ready to start collecting SS on my 64th birthday this year. Careful budgeting and planning means me and wife cover all our bills on SS alone. THAT is not being rich! Also lucked out selling a spare starter fixxer upper house we used for re-locating to a cheaper state at top of market for double what I had into it. That allowed me to use $ I never expected to have and won't miss to pay for my Maverick, new dirt bike in avatar (1st new 1 in 19 years), a new utility trailer, pay off credit card balances to 0, fully fund my HSA account for the year, pay for some extra medical items I had put off for years- and still have a chunk left for a little piece of property down the road.

I don't think I am alone in this category of NOT RICH or impatient, but still able to cover all neccessities of life + a couple WANTS and not have to worry about stretching pennies into Copper wire simply to stick to rigid financial principals I lived by early in life but am able to now disregard every now and then for better quality of life and enjoyment
