Stay out of Michigan Mavster, or 100%, you will get rear ended!! 😂🤪😉🤣😎 I have driven 56 mph my whole life and the only time I was ‘rear ended’ was when I was stopped in a construction zone, on an interstate and a dump truck, working in that construction zone totaled out my 2005 Ford Ranger! It was still actually driveable, but the frame got ‘kinky.’

About 1/2 the time I have to drive 65-70 as speed limit is 65 and it's a two lane with 85% NO PASSING in hilly winding terrain. I have a different way that has more passing areas and is 18.5 miles long. It has 5 -90° turns and a couple curves with 40 mph speed limits. With one direction has 160 foot lower elevation I can get 58-63 mpg with some traffic but can only get about 38-42 mpg on the return trip. I drive this one most often without cruise in econ or slippery. NOTE: drive a winding 40-45 mph road in cruise in 50-52 with econ is a good reference on how to accelerate using resume and still get around 48+ mpg

Sucks for you. Unlucky.
Between 2005 and 2020 I traveled through all 50 states - by automobile.
Hawaii was a rental car of course.

Drove through Michigan quite a few times over the years. My mother's side of the family had small farms in Michigan and a summer house on the lake.

Bad luck for you does not equal reality for everyone else.

I don’t feel unlucky at all. I got away with a cut on my head from that dump truck. My point was that I have driven 56 mph my whole 53 years of driving and I have never been rear ended because of that. Folks tell me that I definitely will, but it has never happened! Maybe it is what they call an ‘Urban Legend!’

Here in Vegas if u drive 55 on the freeway u will get pulled over because EVERYONE assume you are leaving a casino drunk driving.
I drove thru Vegas last year at 56. No problem!! It used to be a great place, with a lot of bang for the buck, but now it is just a money pit! Just drove on by and waved!!!👋

Someone posted it was cheaper to buy a Maverick stateside and ship it to Hawaii than buy it local at least during the dealer add on era.

Just drove a 2000 mile round trip to Ft. Worth, TX area last weekend. Going down I saw 34+ mpg though by the time I got there it was closer to 31 average on the last tank. Going back with a SE tailwind I saw 38+ while running 80 mph to keep from getting run over! Was that for the first two tanks until we turned east at DesMoines and the rain started. When I topped off at the Iowa/Illinois border I was showing just under 33. The last segment with the dead headwind pulled 28+ and speed was down to 75.

I ain't complaining!
