I bought a Thinkware Q200 with the OBD II power cable thinking it would be a plug and play install. IIRC, the dash cam that Ford offers from Ford Accessories is a Thinkware camera with the OBD II adapter. This setup isn't working for me though, the camera constantly power cycles because it's detecting the ignition switching between "START" and "ACC_OFF" all the time, while driving or parked. Has anyone used the OBD II cable with this dash cam specifically? I've seen other posts on here from people who've used other Thinkware cams with the OBD II adapter so I'm pretty sure it works. I had a support case open with Thinkware but they basically dismissed it, saying it "isn't compatible" with the Maverick. Wondering if I got a faulty OBD II cable from Amazon.

In case anyone comes across the same issue with this dash cam, I replaced the OBD II power cable but still didn't work, constantly detecting the vehicle alternating between START and ACC_OFF. I'll probably end up hardwiring it but for now I just have it plugged into the 12V outlet and it works fine, just have to remember to unplug it when I park.

I purchased the U3000 camera from Thinkware and wanted a plug and play unit. I had the camera rebooting constantly and I called support. The person I spoke with mentioned the ODBII cable is only compatible with the hybrid and not the 2.0 Ecoboost. There only work around is getting the cable to wire the camera directly to the fuse block. I suggested making this information available so people can avoid all of the non-connective issues and the camera not working as stated.

The outlets can also be adjusted via FORSCAN to turn off more quickly. From the factory they're set to turn off after 2500 seconds, or 1h15. I adjusted mine to 60 seconds.

Really strange that it would work on the hybrid and not the EB, good to know. I have been interested in checking out Forscan for a while so this is probably a good excuse to do it, 1hr+ on that 12V outlet is a little long.

THINKWARE SENT ME TWO ODB II cables and neither of them work. I was told they do not work with the hybrid or electric vehicles. They kept closing out my ticket and didn't seem to care about my issues rather than just sent the direct wire installation wire harness . They don't want to be held responsible for sending the wiring harness to fit the specific vehicle application. They want to paint everything with one brush and tell you to spend another $30.00 for their cable for direct power. For me I believe it's up to them to have correct information on the website and provide me the correct wire harness when I spend $479.00 for their camera. Their approach is deceptive......

Did you get the power cable issue resolved in your Hybrid? I just installed the Thinkware DC-M2-FG dash cam purchased from Ford using Ford Pass Points. It seems to be working ok with the supplied OBDII port power cable. It also had a cable the branched off to the cigarette lighter for constant power. Only issue I had was the cheap plastic OBDII port plug mounting plate that did not fit the factory mounting bolts and broke while installing. I fabricated a new stronger mount from aluminum angle that fits the factory bolts which resolved this issue.

UPDATE: Thinkware camera started having system errors and quit working. Per their tech support, replace memory card, upgraded firmware, and finally replaced the camera under warranty. The replacement was a 2 year older unit and worked a couple times before the same system error. I removed the whole system and replaced it with a much cheaper RedTiger unit. I cannot recommend Thinkware base on my experience. Thinkware = Poor quality.

I have an EcoBoost, but no it never worked for me, after 2 different OBD II adapters. I'm just using the 12v / cigarette lighter for power which works fine. I thought about using ForScan to change the 12v power off timer to something shorter so that the camera doesn't stay powered on for so long after parking but didn't get around to it, it's working fine as is.
