We have family in TowTx. (near Austin), and they are thinking about buying an SUV, I recomended they consider a Ford Maverick instead but they told me that was for “ goat ropers” and it would not be considered a “ real truck” back home………

Yes, because SUVs inspire strong mall crawling and epic Target runs. Everything else would not be considered “a real grocery getter” and is a “dollar store picker”.

I was really intrigued with Chapman myself but it’s going to cost anywhere from $1,200-$1,800 to get the Maverick shipped from PA to Dallas/Austin.

I wonder if it’s really worth it.

Tom from Chapman connected me with a Ford dealer in Dallas who has quoted $300 for courtesy delivery which is dealer to dealer transfer, so all said and done l am hoping to save at least $1500 as compared to ordering from a local Dallas dealer. We shall see, crossing fingers.

If you are interested you may want to check with Tom Chapman if there’s a dealer in Austin who can do courtesy delivery.

I placed two reservations, one with Leif Johnson and one with Mac Haik Ford. Leif Johnson never replied and Mac Haik wasn't quite sure what to do, so I ordered with Covert Ford without a reservation, but then a day later Mac Haik contacted me so I ordered there too. Thing is, I only received the Ford order confirmation email from Mac Haik, but never got one from Covert Ford so I don't think they really ordered it or they didn't use my email.

I've never bought a Ford before so I don't have any experience with any of the Ford dealers here. Who did you order yours from?

Maxwell ford is the closest for me. They actually reached out and setup an appointment after I did the online piece.

I didn't love the guys attitude, just acted like he didn't care. But he didn't push me and wasn't rude. I didn't get the official email at first but I pinged them a couple times and got it. They said they had to delete and resubmit for some reason.

I may also look into Riata Ford as a backup.

Did Maxwell require any deposits? Did they say anything about Invoice pricing, MSRP pricing, or even “market pricing”? Anything about X-plan?
Lastly, are they doing dealer add-on’s (which are often junk)?

$500 refundable deposit. ( I made them cross out any wording on the form that made it sound binding even though they verbally said it was refundable. They said they would do X-Plan pricing. Didn't push for any add-ons.

Ordered mine from Legacy Ford, Rosenberg, TX the first day and they placed my order on June 10th. $500 deposit. No issues. I live 3 miles from Legacy, but accomplished everything via text and email. They called and let me know the mud guards would delay my order. I removed them from the order. Lagacy assured me they can add them at the dealership when available. So far no complaints.

I ordered from AutoNation Ford in Arlington. $100 deposit, and Jake Andrews was my sales guy. I changed my order once, but they have always been pretty helpful.

Add me to the list of Texas Maverick owners to be. I put in my order for a Area 51 XLT hybrid with the XLT luxury package, 360 assist and a sliding manual rear window with Five Star Ford. $500 refundable deposit, did the whole thing online and got an X-plan pin that they used to jot down a slightly lower than MSRP number on the order sheet, will see how it pans out once it arrives. I thought about doing one of the other remote dealers and getting it transferred, but just recently having moved back to Texas, did not want to potentially mess with out of state drivers license from one state, a car coming from another, etc. Probably left a few $ on the table this way, but at least it is ordered and off of my to do list.

I’m in north Dallas DFW and after dealing with several dealers and their BS add on and fees found 5 star Ford they treated me like a real customer and no extra fees or add on highly recommend them..the pic is exactly what I order is a work truck for my business if we like it will be ordering few more

I'm in Round Rock, TX, just north of Austin. I ordered a cyber orange XLT from Mac Haik Ford in Georgetown. I was contacted by the dealership within a few hours of putting in my reservation. They required no deposit, and I'm getting MSRP price with only a few hundred dollars in fees. I actually set up an appointment to meet the dealership's online salesperson. So I placed my order in person. He was very eager to take my order and discuss the Maverick.
