I wish I had used one of the small dealers. I could have easily used JO Williams, or Tolliver, but was trying to stay closer to work for repair reasons. I've received my truck this week,, but over the whole experience I felt the dealer I used didn't care that much about my purchase. Yes, they wanted to sell the truck, but, meh...we have people spending more on broncos and SuperDuties. I wish I HAD gone to a small dealer.I've noticed in reading through several threads that there are a bunch of us Texans who have either ordered a Maverick or are about to. I thought it would be interesting if all Texans would list their location (city or town), the dealer they are working with, what build they have already ordered or have in mind, and anything else that might be interesting or helpful to fellow Texans. I think good dealer experience would be helpful to others as well as dealers you would not recommend. Not sure if this is allowed in the forum rules to talk bad about specific dealers but we'll soon find out!
I live in a golf course community known as Holly Lake Ranch. It is a very pretty place nestled in the Piney Woods of east Texas, roughly half way between Shreveport, LA. and Dallas, Texas. All the dealers around here are small, country mom and pop businesses. If you go to the "city" such as Longview or Tyler, there are a few bigger dealerships but I have found them to be no better than our more rural "locals". I ordered my Lariat from Texas Country Ford, Winnsboro, Tx. Once they got the hang of the Maverick ordering system they did very well and I have received confirmation from Ford that my order has been accepted. I have already recommended them to several forum members here in Texas looking to order a Maverick.
Another reason for my starting this thread is that I recall my early days at the Honda Ridgeline forum about 15 years ago where threads like this were started in various states. We Ridgeline owners would often get together for lunches and compare and show off our Ridgelines, mods and accessories. We all learned a great deal from each other. We would also go to car shows and do various other things as a group and the Ridgeline caravan was quite impressive. It was a good time and some of us even went on hunting trips together and shared other interests. Maybe something social like this can happen down the road with Texas Maverick owners. Anyway, Texas Mavericks is a cool name (not only for the basketball team) and deserves a thread of its own - so here it is Texas!!!
I ordered my Hybrid from Five Star off of 190 in Dallas on 10/18. I was wondering when you placed your order and how long it took. Beautiful truck!5 star ford Dallas was great to deal with msrp Tax tit and license no dealer add on nothin was added to the price, love the hybri!![]()
I used a small town dealer and it was a mistake. I ordered in June and had to teach them how the Maverick process worked. They finally learned it and Ford sent me an email saying I was in the system and the reservation accepted. Nothing since. Dealer told me he has seven Maverick orders and none have been picked up for build. This tells me the small dealers have no allocations and the bigger dealers will probably get the bulk of the pick ups while the little guys are constantly sent to the bottom of the pile. I should have been selected well before now because of the June order but it has not happened. I can only blame it on the dealer who has pretty much given up too and rarely responds to my emails until I send them two or three times.I wish I had used one of the small dealers. Eh..thats what I experienced about the two or three time thing. I ordered 06/30, and immediately got an order confirmation, but after that crickets, until Aug 12 from FORD. Not my dealer. When I called them, it was to answer my questions with obviously less knowledge than I had already found in this forum (thank y'all for the help!). I felt 'womaned', which might or might not have been the case, but the lack of communication between Ford and the dealers made the process stressful. It's been argued here and elsewhere that "supply chain restraints" and this and that, but that would have been accepted as a good explanation IF Ford had communicated such to dealers and them to us. I think if we had known what to expect, and the specifics of why, we would have been less anxious and angsty..lol. Luckily I now have my truck, and hopefully all my "friends" here will be enjoying theirs soon.I used a small town dealer and it was a mistake. I see you are in Gladewater, not far from me at Holly Lake Ranch. Where did you order your Maverick?Eh..thats what I experienced about the two or three time thing. Hey, that's the same dealer I ordered from since I live in Farmers Branch! When did you order yours?5 star ford Dallas was great to deal with msrp Tax tit and license no dealer add on nothin was added to the price, love the hybri!![]()
Same dealer I order 7/5 once I deleted the bed liner all when very smooth they started building them in September so it took about 3 months I think ford did a phenomenal job and kept the promise to deliver by fallI ordered my Hybrid from Five Star off of 190 in Dallas on 10/18. I was wondering when you placed your order and how long it took. Beautiful truck!
Is yours a regular XLT or hybrid? I'm also in south Texas and wondering if it takes longer for everything to get here.I don't recall the exact time line, but it arrived about 2 weeks before Ford's expected delivery date on the tracker. I order through Chapman to deliver to Spikes. Didn't dive it much until I got the front clear wrapped b/c 83. It's been a week as my daily and I like it. Lots of pep, for sure. I even had someone come up to me at home depot today to ask about it.
Mine was a regular, gas truck. It seemed to arrive a little sooner than others around the country. I think they're coming in from Del Rio, so, for once, we're not as far behind. Is yours a regular XLT or hybrid? I'm also in south Texas and wondering if it takes longer for everything to get here.
I doubt it. From the Forums, it appears that you are lucky if your dealer does not add on fees. My Hybrid was ordered in Oct; possible arrival in April. A different dealer called me last week and offered a Lariat Hybrid Base Package that was refused by the customer who ordered it. I bought it on the spot, see attached Window Sticker and Purchase Agreement. Not below MSRP, but fair price. When they called me, I thought that they would add a dealer markup of $2-5k to the MSRP. I was prepared to negotiate. After I saw it it, I said "ok, how much?" The rep said MSRP, $27,915, plus the dealer add-ons, wheel lock and tint, $529. I could not write the check fast enough. Yeah, they made about $400 on the tint and locks, and maybe $400 on the truck. I thought that was very fair, because I am now driving a Maverick Lariat, and love it! Have logged 1400 miles; so far, so good. I recommend Josh McKee, Gullo Ford, Conroe, TX.Are there any dealers in Houston selling below MSRP? or anywhere else in Texas?
Ford A/Z Plan buyer here. I ordered my Hybrid XLT, Luxury Pkg, & Ford 360 in Iconic Silver on 10/18 from Five Star Ford off 190 (George Bush) in Dallas. The New Car Sales Manager, Luis, has been my go-to guy and has responded to any inquiry I might have. Initially a Priority 10, however, Luis said Ford is looking to move me to a Priority 2 soon. I have not received a Schedule Date as of yet. Hopefully it will be forthcoming soon.
