What kind of deal did you get with Sewell? I meant to check with Sewell Ford in Odessa, but ended up going with Granger.

Bronco order as well here, I think I'm going to push it to MY23.
same! i ordered my bronco with sewell ford in odessa and they’ve handled this whole debacle graciously (and sent some welcome swag, back before it felt like a sad consolation prize).

i‘m not actually sure that johnson sewell is affilliated with sewell ford, or with any of the other sewell dealerships around texas for that matter. but the name is what got my attention, and they’ve given me solid service so far. they quoted me MSRP for my truck, and i didn’t have to put a deposit down, which i appreciated. i didn’t try to negotiate, either; i was just happy not to be paying a markup.

What happened with maxwell? I bought my f150 there and had a great experience with my sales rep. I’ve placed my maverick order through him as well. But I’ve heard a number of people complain about maxwell and am wondering if my experience was the exception to the rule now.
welp. as a lifelong female car nerd, i am no stranger to sexism at car dealerships, but the experience i had with a certain sales rep at maxwell was BEYOND. i told them so, too, and they made no effort to try to retain my business.

anyhow, no love lost! i’m genuinely glad you had a good experience with your f150 but this kind of BS will absolutely catch up with them.

appreciate the feedback. That is truly unfortunate and dumb on their part. Don’t blame you a bit.

I am looking for just the basic Cactus Grey XL 2.5 with a hitch (for holding a bicycle rack, not towing). I have been sending out e-mails to the major Ford dealers in the Austin area but pretty much everyone wants MSRP which is a non-starter for me.

As for Maxwell, I wouldn't trust them as far as I could throw them. Here is part of the e-mail I received to my Maverick inquiry from the Internet Manager: "The vehicle you requested is currently in stock and available. When would you like to come in and take a look at it? ". I replied back asking how they were the first company in the US to get one and never got an answer ;-) I did get an e-mail from the Maxwell "Internet Sales Director" stating: " I want to make sure that all of your questions have been answered to your satisfaction.". Replied back to that one as well but have not heard back (and really don't expect to).

At this point just looking for a replacement for my wife's 13 year old Ford Focus with 200k+ miles. Figure I will place the order once I find someone in the Austin/Houston/San Antonio area willing to do "under invoice". On one of the forums someone mentioned a Houston area dealer doing "2% under invoice" but never saw any more info on that. Just not quite worth the hassle of going with one of the out-of-state dealers (Chapman, etc.) for a base-level XL (but definitely would be for the higher-end models). I am not in any big hurry and figure that once the chip shortage is over (my expectation is a few more months) there will be deals to be had.

Anyone know how many Mavericks have been ordered in the Austin area? The Ford sales-guy in Bastrop mentioned that he had already ordered 19 of them for customers (not counting any that were ordered through other reps). Guessing the big players in Austin are probably doing double or triple that.

I'm also in DFW. Yesterday I ordered a velocity blue XLT hybrid with lux pkg from 5 Star in Carrollton. No deposit required. Smooth process but they wouldn't go below MSRP. I received the confirmation email from Ford while driving home.

Edit: Also ordered moonroof and copilot 360 pkg.

Did they advise you not to order any accessories (tonneau bed cover, floor liners, etc.) because it could potentially delay the build?

In Justin, TX. Got the XLT in Velocity Blue with 360 and Lux. Still cheaper than trying to find a solid used truck. The tech, low price and MPG got me hooked. Working with Sam Pack's Five Star Ford in Lewisville. Gotten two emails, a bot and a person. That was on Saturday 08/14. Still waiting to hear back from their "Maverick Specialist". Not sure how long I should wait for a response or reach back out. Total new guy when ordering/reservation online. Any ideas on what my next step should be?
Agree with contacting 5-Star Carrollton. They seem to know what they're doing with Maverick orders and got my order into the system right away.

Yes!! I wanted the hard cover and a few accessories and they said better not to. I ordered August 6th i think. I'd love to have the car for my birthday in November... But i kinda doubt it. Did they give you an estimate?

A salesman said 14 weeks and then the guy who put in the order said around the end of the year. I took it as they're just guessing.

I’m in Conroe. I’ve been watching YouTube videos by the internet salesman at Long McArthur Ford in Salina Kansas. They offer no dealer mark up and free delivery to your home (up to $1000). Nothing down when you order. Only catch is you finance with them (which I’ll do then pay off the loan ASAP). If it doesn’t work out locally it’s good to know there is an option. I’ve heard some dealers are marking the up from $2000-$5000.

I'm in Round Rock, TX, just north of Austin. I ordered a cyber orange XLT from Mac Haik Ford in Georgetown. I was contacted by the dealership within a few hours of putting in my reservation. They required no deposit, and I'm getting MSRP price with only a few hundred dollars in fees. I actually set up an appointment to meet the dealership's online salesperson. So I placed my order in person. He was very eager to take my order and discuss the Maverick.
Hello from Georgetown, TX!

I too placed my order in person a Mack Haik. Spoke to the salesperson and they required no deposit! He explained to me that since the Maverick is so new, they know people will want to see it and drive before making a final decision…thus no obligation on our end.

My wife and I ordered an Area 51 XLT Lux and cannot wait to get it! I’m sure it’ll be exactly what we’ve wanted for some time now (we have missed the compact truck segment greatly).

The salesperson seemed very knowledgeable about the Maverick and was very nice! It is nice to know that if for whatever reason if we don’t love it we can walk away. No worries, no money lost.

Good deal on a great truck!

Coming in from DFW also.

2022 Maverick XL Front-Wheel Drive:

  • 2.5L Hybrid Engine
  • Automatic Continuously Variable Transmission
  • Area 51
  • Black Onyx Cloth Bucket Front-Seats
  • 17" Sparkle Silver Steel Wheels
  • Standard Package
  • Ford Co-Pilot360™
Going for least expensive this time around since I'm fresh outta cash and finally done with the divorce. I REALLY hope the Maverick can hold it's own and prove it's "Built Ford Tough".
