Lotta stupid people hanging out on sites like Jalopnik and such who argue that "The maverick could be even smaller with a two door cab and a slightly longer bed". Yeah, but it wouldn't sell well. I assume some are being facetious, but others seem genuine.

i'd go for a super cab in a minute and it would be bigger than the old ranger, not quite as tall as my 2000 FX4 Ranger.
the only reason they call it a compact is it's size relative to a F series/new Ranger

Ah, well that’s a little different no? A two door with longer bed is usually around the same size. Plenty of truck owners don’t use the back seat.

I thought you meant legitimately smaller overall

Yup. I had a 90s Ranger with a SuperCab and a nice bed. I see why it's 4 doors but that bigger bed would be great.

I could go for an "extended cab" long bed option... The size would be pretty much the same though, so not really any smaller or bigger. I've always enjoyed compact trucks and really don't have a need for 4 doors.

Smaller cab and a smaller overall length is what I've heard these people chumming for.

TBF, it's pretty awesome :ROFLMAO:
Probably would go over well with the younger crowd.. Looks like you have to adjust the mirror by hand and probably the seat also. No ACC of may not even have AC. No sunroof of dual climate controls and the list goes on. :D

Size of the Maverick is important; however, like a lot of things, it is performance that counts. So far, I am both pleased and satisfied with the performance of my Maverick!!;):)
There's a full size F150 I use at work and I MUCH prefer to drive my Maverick.

My Datsun had single speaker radio, 2 or 3 speed heater with defroster, BIG PLUS was bagel shaped reinforced rubber overload bumpers that were sandwiched between axle housing and bed support that kept leaf springs from reverse bending when particle board was loaded about to height of cab. If front end got a little light you could put 100lb sack of cement on hood. Never had clutch problem probably due to lack of HP? Coolest thing was generator brushes were behind a 1"x1" door held on by Phillips screw and could be changed out in about 3 minutes.
