Just got mine and had the first drive and feels like a 20 to 25k vehicle that's overinflated. I like it, but more like damn, pay $34k for that and probably should have paid $25, vs feeling like I got a great deal. If they didn't over inflate them like all others have, then definitely xlt hybrid in the mid 20's would have that feeling.
What makes it feel $20-25k vs what you paid for it? Other than in 2022 it had a base price of 21,495?

What other vehicles in the 34k price range did you drive that were nicer? What was nicer about them?

What vehicles are available in the 20-25k price range that are on par with the Maverick? What features (or rather lack thereof) or qualities of the vehicles make them a $20-25k vehicle?

2025 Maverick pricing has made the majority of the appeal go away. It’s a neat truck at 25k. It’s another overpriced econobox at 35k. I’ll keep my paid off 23 until its blows up/rots out, and move on to something else.

I concur about keeping it till it dies. My wife has a 2019 RAV4, but it only has like 34k miles. So I figured that should last another 10 years, I just bought my Maverick I figure if I get 10 years out of it, that's great. And with the ten year warranty I should be ok. I'm already retired, she'll be retiring in about 6 years so 10 years from now we'll get rid of both cars and just get one that we both want.

For some of us who want features, it is an awesome truck at $35,000. There are various trim levels for various needs. There is no need to be condescending to those with other needs/desires.

I had no intention of being condescending. I don’t even know how you got that from my post.

"overpriced econobox" was probably the trigger.

my Maverick was 36,550 and I found a way to be completely unconcerned with your opinion expressed in that reply. edit- the 2 main reasons would be that my previous vehicle was 34k and I hated it, and my next best alternative to a Maverick is a Ranger which will cost me at least 44k.

You say it's a much nicer truck, but I've yet to see any meaningful improvements in the build quality. And at these prices, that would be a problem for me.

The 43k Mavericks today are built the same way my 33k truck back in 2021 was built. And my 33k truck is built the same way as the 20k trucks were in 2021 and 2022.

Like other folks above me said, we all want to justify our purchases, no matter what we buy.
ohh well i'm paying 29 and change on mine with 360, 4k tow AWD hybrid...So they are not overpriced unless you go balls to the wall , Lariat, trmor , lobo and pay 40k+

I hear you. Seems like some people come on here just for an echo chamber of their opinions on their purchase. That can’t be good for anybody.

I’m just a peasant XL driver though

Comparing it to my 2010 Kia for on, had zero issues with, seems about the same build quality inside. Kia rides better, not sure yet if it drives better.

Go back to a 2000 F350, 7.3 we still have with less than 100k miles, 30k, would take that any day over this.

Just the artificial inflation brought on by covid. You take an F450 I believe was in the 50’s now in the 70’s. Compact truck in the 20’s Ranger, high 20’s to 30’s, so on. It’s not just Ford it’s over inflated. So taking what it takes me to make $30,000 to pay for a vehicle and what’s in it that’s actually useable, a good value would be in the low 21,495, add 4k for the new features, that would “feel” about right. That’s me. If people had to start saving up money and paying instead of financing and focusing on a monthly payment, have a feeling there would be more “feeling” that way as well and prices actually readjusting back to reality. Again, my opinion.

I don’t understand how a small compact car like this is justifiable at $35,000. Is it because we’ve let and supported inflation on everything else? I like mine but there is NOTHING about it that justifies $35,000. But we can say this about a lot of other cars as well, not picking on Ford here

So you’re mad about vehicle prices in general not the Maverick’s price in the market itself, that makes a bit more sense.

This thread is hilarious. It’s like a bunch of old people whining and bitching about how gas used to cost $1.29 a gallon and now gas is such a rip-off at $4 a gallon, because it’s made with the same quality and workmanship as the $1.29 gas.

Sorry pal, life has moved on without you. This is the new reality. Ford has to keep making a profit to stay in business. Paying customers are just as willing to pay 2025 prices for a new Maverick as they were to pay 2022 prices.

If you can’t afford a new Maverick, then don’t buy one. But for the love of god, can you please stop whining about it? Your whining isn’t going to change a damn thing.

Hi all, new here.. Just want to throw my 2 cents after reading this thread. I understand that the pricing changed from 2024 to 2025, and these Mavericks have a higher msrp now. At my local dealerships the cheapest 2024 XL is 26.5k. The cheapest 2025 XL is just about 30k. I get it, 3k more to msrp this year is a lot. But as others have mentioned, there is inflation, and new upgrades(of course it's debatable if it justifies 3k more msrp, and there are valid points either way). I've wanted a Maverick since they first came out, and did a lot of research. The first year, I waited, as they were a first year model...and I didn't want to deal with a first year. I revisited them in like, 2022... and the local dealers were selling all the Mavericks as soon as they got them, and charging 3k over msrp on everything for "market demand"(and people were paying it). Paying 3k over msrp because they are in demand? I aint the one, needless to say I ended up waiting more. In my opinion, whether it's the 25's or the 22's... brand new, you can absolutely make a valid case for buying an XLT vs an XL. Back to the example above of the 2024 XL for 26.k at a local dealer. It's absolutely worth paying 2k more for the XTL vs the XL, and imho , the smarter choice. I know the 24's are on a recall/stop sale right now, but the point is that for a few extra grand, it's absolutely worth getting the features the xlt has (cruise control, not ugly wheels, ect). These numbers are basically assuming a base XL vs a base XLT, and the real pricing at dealerships where I live. I understand you can add AWD and other options to go higher. Where I live, AWD is a must have. That adds at least another 1k or so to msrp. So continuing with the 2024 examples, a base XLT with AWD at least, is say 31-32k. I can get a 2024 Tremor/Lariat for 36k. Is it worth 4k more than an XLT with AWD? Maybe not. I guess my point is, comparing a 26k base XL to a 36k Lariat/Tremor, and saying 10k more msrp "isn't worth it", is just an opinion. I went with a 2025 EG Tremor, just bought it this past Friday...and that was 4k more than the 36.5k black tremor/lariat I was eyeing. They were both "worth it" imho. The budget side of me wanted the black Tremor, but the "that is cooler" side of me went with the 2025.
