I've been wanting the larger screen so badly for so long, they could have put the front end of a 1974 Volkswagen Thing on it, and I would have bought it. But seriously, I don't see why so many hate the front end of the 2025 Maverick. I actually like it. I think they did pick the best grill of the prototypes I saw.

What do y'all think? Below are the 1974 Thing, 2024 Maverick, and 2025 Maverick.

it doesn't add anything to the look of it, they could easily just left it alone as it was. The only color that this looks ok on is black.

I won't change my mind. The 22-24 looks much better. The biggest mistake is moving the A/C controls to the screen. An obvious safety issue. There are already too many distractions in all the computer controlled items.
I prefer more separate controls, ideally 3 knobs with one for fan, 1 for airflow direction and 1 for temp) but I feel I'd get used to it. If probably adjust it to my liking and only readjust when safe. Not a big user of auto climate control but with this setup I'd use it more

There is not enough lighting on the new model. They ditched some of the lights and instead added a plastic cover. They should have left that part alone instead of trying to save a few bucks. The fog light area looks better but that doesn't compensate for the butchering they did on the headlight area.

I gotta say, that Auto climate control feature is pretty awesome. My previous vehicles always had Lo-Med-Hi (or something close to that), but to be able to set it at 76 degrees is excellent! That ALMOST makes the controls obsolete, because 95% of the time that's what I want. AND it toggles between Cool & Heat automatically.

Many of us are creatures of habit (I know I am), and those buttons are hard to let go; but I'm loving the Auto setting AND look forward to voice commands.

What lighting did they remove? I can see the "bottom" lights are gone, but did they consolidate those into the upper lights somehow?

I think that Automatic climate is limited to Lariat and above on the 2025s, right? Now, truthfully, I don't see why you couldn't enable that feature via Forscan if all the controls are in software - it's not like there are physical differences between the different trim levels anymore!

But still an important point to consider for those of us who ordered an XL or XLT. I'm referencing the order guide, FWIW, which doesn't appear to list any automatic climate on XL or XLT.

all mavericks have automatic climate control. the only difference in lariat (and above) is dual zone, so your passenger can choose their own temp.

I believe with Synch4 you can press the "Action" button on the steering wheel and say, "Turn the AC to 78 degrees", and it will do it. That's even safer than the knobs!! :)

All the non-knob AC controls which aren't intuitive even to someone who's owned the truck for 2 years, actually require one to look to the bottom of the dashboard!

One has to take his eyes completely off the road to look at those controls! When one looks at the screen, he still has periphery vision on the road (which is what prevents accidents). I concede the knobs don't require one to take his eyes off the road, but all the other controls absolutely do, and that's more dangerous than the screen controls.

And there's not "too many steps using the touch screen". The controls are right across the bottom of the screen. Doesn't that seem safer than the buttons being 2 feet further down the dashboard? Plus, being able to verbally say "Put all the air to the 'feet' vents" is safer & easier than either the dashboard or screen controls. :)Don't you agree?

Yes I used voice controlled devices around the house and occasionally they get it right. It does seem a little different but I guess I would get used to it in a car. Sometimes that when I'm driving I don't want to hear myself talk.....

Oh I know I was just talking to a coworker about being willing to change things up or do it differently. I'm a big fan of that. I guess when it's really hot here in the summer though I just wanted on maximum cold ac. I guess there's a way to say that just tell it to come on at whatever the lowest temperature is

You liked the Pontiac aztek?
Hate to admit it but I did. Never had one but liked the ads where they had the tents connected to the back. This was before I knew it was actually a minivan underneath.
I tend to like odd cars.
