Hi, I may try that if it bothers me enough. Was the swap just a plug and play? Anything to do software wise?
I got an early Mav HVAC module with digital temp display from another forum member whose Maverick got wrecked. Very simple swap — plug and play, and it worked.

That whole section of the dash pops out, containing the two center vents and the HVAC module. Then it’s just two wiring connectors that snap into the back of the module.

But I understand that IF you happen to find one NOS (new old stock, never installed) you may need to run some Forscan to program it.

And, make sure you match your truck’s HVAC system, whether standard single zone or upgraded dual zone HVAC. (Mine is single, so temp reading on one dial)

I like having the temp setting always visible on the knob.

BUT you can live without it. Whenever you touch the temp knob, a big honkin’ temp display graphic comes up in the center of your screen, showing the setting, and changing if you turn the knob,

AND the current temp setting also shows small at the top of the screen, with the time.

It only shows up on the main display when you change it, IF you are using Android Auto..... If you are NOT using Android Auto, it does show at the top of the main display....

Yep, what he said. You definitely do not need to have it on the dial.

I’m just used to seeing the temperature setting on the dial, so when I was able to obtain an early module, I did.

I like having it… but it’s no big deal.

For me, personally, I roll the window down to determine how hot or cold it is outside ;)
I'm curious how knowing the outside temperature helps you to set the desired temperature for the vehicle's HVAC system?

It bothered me because on the two Mavericks I test drove, both of them had the temperature display dials!!

If not having an "always visible" temp readout bothers you, the dial shifter isgonna blow your mind!

But seriously, I'm also an "old dog" and found that it took about 5 seconds to get used to both "features."

I actually like the temps for both zones showing on the main display better, you don’t have to look down to see the temps

Well, Jim, I can’t speak for Shakesbear, but It’s kinds like taking the square root of the tire pressure times 9 to determine the speed at which you may expect to hydroplane… On certain tires..

Ya must havta hold yer hand in the shade then the sun and compare how fast a pat of butter from Cracker Barrel softens, or melts….that will give you the temp in C, which you can then double and add 30 to approximate F. If you have a cooler or styrofoam cup fulla butter pats tween yer knees, It’s not only quick, but easy.

Shakesbear may have an easier way…But with a name like Shakesbear, he will probably be verbose with his take on it. Jest sayin. Let’s see wut he says.

If the ambient air temperature outside is cold, then you don't want the A/C on; if the air temp outside is hot, you don't want the heater on. If it feels good outside, keep the widow down and save a little gas ;)
