Takes Ford 1/2 day to put on a Sticker

Just got the notice for the VEC sticker recall. Basically the existing VEC sticker doesn’t list something so they need to pop the hood and put on a new sticker.

“less than half a day but possibly longer”

does anyone actually drop their vehicle at dealer for this? Lol

I’ll be in the camp of either ignoring the recall or next time I’m there for something, grabbing the sticker and pasting over the old one myself.

Probably ask the service advisor if they can just have someone walk out into the intake bay and slap it on in 30 seconds. They may not have looked at the specifics of the recall and are thinking you'll need to wait for a tech to get to it.

Problem with these ideas is that they are too practical as well as dealer cannot charge enough man hours for it. The joys of how the "system" works.

Considering they’re at 2 full days and running for the airbag recall I think I’ll pass on the sticker.

If I got the same tech no doubt he’d paste the sticker on the glass of the rear view mirror

Rude too. I was in today for the airbag recall fiasco and they tell me they'll only give me the sticker if they install it.

In their defense, the admin portion of the work is real and needs to be accounted for. Back to my comment I'm saving both them and me the effort by just not doing it. I mean I get it if it's some life or death thing (don't touch this or you could die), but listing emissions equipment isn't very important in my mind.

A simple point, Ford tells the dealer how much they will pay for an authorized repair. That's what they pay regardless of how much time it actually takes whether it takes less or more time. It's possible to get more out of Ford but there is a process/hoops they have to go through for authorization. Most dealerships also pay their techs based on the Ford "book" time.

No dealership freely gives money back on a repair completed in less than book time.

Private repair shops have their own national repair book they use for estimates if they chose to use it.

i just got a notice from ford regarding this sticker. but in my case they included the sticker with installation instructions.

That is just in default minimum time they list on the recall notices.
