Anybody put a tip on their exhaust?

Anybody put a tip on their exhaust? With it so high and close to the rear cover, are there any concerns with melting the cover?

I built a 3" cat back with a 4.5"tip. I notched the bumper cover for esthetics. Been like that for 2 years 25k. No problems with heat or melting. Even towing 3500 lbs at highway speeds for 100miles at a time.
