Tailgate Randomly Opens

Title says it all. Is this happening to anyone else?

At least 4 times now I have backed out of my driveway (confirmed tailgate was closed by using rearview camera) only to find that some distance down the road the tailgate is down.

Furthermore, if you have dealt with this issue, what was your remedy?

Odd. Take a look to see if you can see an obvious reason, but don't start taking it apart. Take it to the dealer and let them fix it.

Agreed. ...and we'd love to hear what they tell you. Especially if there's an easy fix or something to watch out for.

Also - if you don't have a dampener installed and it's thudding or bouncing down you might consider getting one temporarily just to mitigate risk of the tailgate equivalent of repetitive strain injury until it gets fixed properly.

Hey there. Can you please send over a message with your VIN and the name/location of your local Ford dealer? I would like to look further into your tailgate concerns.

MTC has, thus their banner. Many on here have interacted with them, some with better results than others. No reason to suspect it's anyone but Ford's customer service team.

They are legit, sent them my info when I found a razor blade under my seat. They ain't going to $hit about it other than: "we are looking into it" and "we've contacted the dealership." My $0.02, its just PR face saving like they care, they don't.
