Tailgate Light bar power source

My original light bar finally called it quits so im gonna switch out to something more high powered. I noticed that others had issues with higher powered bars from just tapping the tail lights as a power source so im curious if there is another option yall found? I'll still try to use just the tail lights at first but in case it isnt enough, im looking for other options.

I was considering using one of the 12v power points and putting a relay on it so its still controlled by the tail lights. Otherwise I dont really know what else is available.

Yea. I ended up using the 12v power port on the rear and a relay to control the lights. I'll have to make a wiring diagram of how it all went together at some point.

Yeah, I came here to see about getting a light bar for the rear and found out you can’t simply plug it into the 4-pin wiring harness haha

made a quick diagram. I think everything is explained. A few things to note. The running and reverse wires can come from either side. I did the driver's side originally so that is what I did the diagram with. Please only use pin #2 though for the running lights. I want to say pin #5 did not work right originally.
