Just to chime in with my opinion here: I disagree that the inset lettering looks better and am glad they left it as just an imprint although I’d really rather the tailgate just be blank. I personally feel like adding the colored lettering just makes for a garish “pay attention at me!” look and is not my style at all. To each their own of course but that’s just my take.
