Tailgate angle

My tailgate, when open, angles a little lower than level with the bed. Is this normal? Both cables would have to be the wrong length.
2.0 AWD XLT with tow package.

It seems that is the norm, as well as the cables being slightly different lengths.

Thanks I did prior and did not find anything from the search - three times, three different headings, all with tailgate

Yes this is "normal" as already mentioned by previous members too, and the cables are different-uneven as well.

Mine goes a little negative. But only the right cable is stretched tight, there's slack in the left. Not a lot but you can tell.
