Tail light keeps popping out….

Who has had their Maverick rear tail light pop out all by itself. I have 3700 miles and the last week it’s popped out 3 times and I pop it back in and it’s out about 1/4” where clips are not holding it all the way. I thought someone hit me the one day because it was just sticking out. The passenger side one has not done this yet just the drives side. Who has had this problem and did replacing the clips fix it? Someone on YouTube stated they replaced clips and the light still pops out. Just curious on everyone’s input. Thx.

The key is to tighten the bolt/screw juuuuuuuuust the right amount. It will pop out if it is too tight as well as too loose. I've had to fix mine a few times, including a couple days ago when I noticed one was popped out after getting it back from some body work. I assume the Body Shop overtightened it since it took some effort for me to loosen the screws, hold the light in, then retighten it to a more appropriate tightness.

As mentioned above , known issue. No fix yet.

I had issues on my 23 which I fixed by removing taillight and adjusting height of posts that engage with the body. Worked for 6 months I had the truck. My 24, so far no issues.

In my case I think the posts were too short, so the taillight bottomed out on the side panel and the posts barely engaged with the body hole. Making them longer...well it did the opposite of above.

This might be the time to use 1 or more of those itsi bitsi thin stainless washers you can never use because they are so thin???
Edit to add: or maybe pattern torque the screws step by step until you get them tight enough. Maybe the truck holes are not flat in the same plane as the holes on the tail light assembly?

Hello, my driver's side did the same thing so I removed it and realigned it in the grommets and gave it a nice smack then put in the 2 bolts and have not had anymore problems

This a Warranty issue, nothing more. I went through this adventure last year. Don't waste your time on backyard fixes. Call the dealer and get it scheduled for repair. They will install the correct size of mounting studs and it will be fixed correctly. The repair takes less than five minutes.

Hmmm
I added two small washers and reseated it and it’s been good so far but the dealers said per the tsb they are supposed to wait on a proper fix from Ford which says 3rd quarter of this year. My dealer is great and it’s working for now so I’ll wait to hear from them
