Sync 3 Audio Stutter/Skip Exclusive To Maverick or?

Hey all,

There’s a few threads here about the infamous stutter/skipping sound effect on ‘24 and earlier Lariats with Sync 3. I was curious if this issue is exclusive to Maverick Lariats? Are there different software versions for different vehicles also equipped with Sync 3? I was curious if I swapped out my APIM for say a ‘24 or earlier Bronco Sports if I could maybe eliminate the issue? Currently have an 8inch Sync 4 APIM which has its own issues due to never being in a vehicle equipped with the features of the Maverick Lariat.

It happened in my 89 Celica, but only on my scratched "Pyromania" CD.

The Bronco Sport had sync3 in all trim levels 21-24 and now has sync4 for 2025 like the Maverick. The amount of people here who have a Bronco Sport with sync3 isn't zero, but I'm certain you would find your answer a lot faster / better on a Bronco Sport specific site or FB group.

Honestly... not sure why it matters. I would not expect a sync3 swap to make any difference other than lightening your wallet. A sync4 swap is difficult but it can be done, and that would resolve it, yes.

From what I've read across other forums, its a Sync issue and affects more than just the maverick.

This same issue has been reported since at least 2020/2021. They know. They don't care.

Has anyone done the update? I got an update 2 weeks ago, I have yet to spend the time to update it though.
