Surging when stopped. Anyone else?

That's great for you. Then you don't have a Problem. It doesn't mean that myself an others don't have this issue.

I never even implied others didn't have the issue. If it remains that I don't have the issue, there might be something to help others resolve it. Possibly how I operate the truckette, or a later build date having some programming differences, etc. If I am able to create the problem, then maybe we learn something too.

It is good that we all discuss this. I have a feeling the engineers and designers don't. They seem, in general to be slow to correct any issues. We need to bring these in to the dealership and push the issue not just let it be and ignore. Last year the blue oval was reported to have a 5 billion loss due to warranty and quality issues. Hard to ignore.

Well I'm back at the dealership for surging / lunging at first stop during first start up
Dealer had it 2 days. They have consulted a second dealership. I told them I wanted it back for the weekend.
Service writer said he'd get back to me on Tuesday or Wednesday. That the techs were discussing and trying to decide what the cause may be. Last time TCM was reprogrammed, it never stopped. This time they may reprogramm the PCM. Also said that they've seen issues with a lose flywheel. They did an overnight cold soak to help replicate the issue. Got it to happen after first day and stronger on morning. I don't think they have a clue! This is a common problem with the eCVT. It only does this when it's cold for a minimum of 4 hours or more, at first stop during warm up when dash says electric only. We'll see what happens, but if they pull the motor I'm done with it. Things are never the same.
Anyone else experience this as a solution.

Honestly....I think it's just a normal symptom of this Hybrid. Mine does it EVERY day when I take off to go to work. Just on the first stop....as mentioned before in this thread. When I stop to shut my gate and adjust phone. I did notice that the ICE IS running when it is surging. At first I thought I was still on battery...but i've recently notice that....yes...the Ice is running. As soon as I go 4 blocks and stop to go out of the neiborhood....it is no longer surging.

You are probably right. But, sometimes the surging is pretty strong and I can hear a sort of clunk. Like something trying to engage and let lose. Usually strongest in the morning. It just a little unsettling and doesn't feel normal.

Mine still does it but way less now. I moved so my first stop after being cold is in a new place now and usually after a longer run of the ICE.

Well it looks like what I mentioned may be a normal issue to some but not so much for me and some others. My dealership techs and another dealership and a Ford rep have said they are battling Ford Corporate, who is trying to say it is normal end of story, not doing anything. They have proof of other vehicles at 3 dealers that have had a similar issue and found it has to do with the trans. So today I brought it back in to have it scanned so that Ford Corporate can see the results and probably give approval for replacement. Only took 3 weeks of back and forth. Tech said he has seen this in the past and with my low mileage it is probably an issue with magnets in an electric motor causing this.

For me, I am just going to deal with it. My Maverick hybrid is a 2022 and I just hit 14,000 miles so only 3.5k miles per year of driving. I haven't done any of the recalls either but I really need to get the half shafts done because it did the shudder on acceleration thing for a while and now it just clunks on every little bump.
