I went to change my oil today and noticed one of the bolts holding the FX4 skidplate up was missing (bolt not one of the torx screws). The only thing I can think is the tech overtightened it my last oil change 6months ago.

I tried putting one of the other bolts in but it just spins.

Im guessing I am SOL trying to prove they caused it.

What are my options to fix?

Is this the same dealership you bought the Mav from? If so, I would expect them to honor it. Damnit! I hate when this kinda shit happens.

Someone will have to tap the hole and put a new bolt in. Those bolt straight to the cross-member and I doubt anyone wants to pay for a new cross-member.

Buy a good set with steel rivets. match the bolt size so you don't have an odd ball

I bought from chapman for the 4% under invoice deal, and live a few states away so no such luck.

I just changed my oil for the first time with fx4. I unbolted the front plate, but the right side one just spun. Looks like the welded nut within the crossmember broke loose while loosening the bolt. I hope the rest of the welds on my truck are not the same poor quality.

Same thing happened to me :-( What did you do to fix it?

Try a Thread forming bolt that's a little bigger. Not self-tapping, thread forming.
