Ford lug nuts suck .... no way around it....
Change them asap ....

Use the right size socket and you never have an issue. I did towing and road service for 23 years. I never stripped one. Removed plenty that others stripped. I reused my take off Mustang lugs on my Maverick.

OP, glad everything worked out.

Lug nuts are installed at the factory by a torque-controlled machine that spins/torques all 5 at the same time. It's very unlikely this was a factory issue.....FYI
