85mph is stupid in a truck. It has the aerodynamics of a brick, not a Ferrari. Whoever decided the speed limits in your area is a moron.
Texas baby👍👍👍

Nihil novum sub sole.

What can I say? I guess you know everything. I was sharing an experience and my surprise in regard to it.
Another factor I did not know was so severe was the extreme increase in rolling resistance when the roads are wet, not puddled just wet.
And Tire pressure, how over inflation also increases rolling resistance with many tires, but not all.
Turns out a over inflated tire cannot flex over a bump it has to bounce and skids on the rebound under certain conditions.

As for, “ I guess you know everything”
Sorry I’m an old fart that logged 3.2 million miles in commercial trucks.

I forget things like that are new to some.
Please forgive me.
I am what I am,
A cantankerous old fart.

Yeah you should not explore Autobahn speeds, fear at 250 KPH will get you killed.

Germany, 5 times the traffic density 40% higher speeds, 1/5th the traffic accidents.
Its driver skill and training.

FWIW I watched my average mpg climb from 30.5 to 32 mpg while I was running 85-90 in my Maverick Ecoboost.
I could feel the trucks suspension nearing its safe limits. IMO it would not be wise to run over 105 mph on the stock Michelins I have.

I feel perfectly safe at 85-90 mph in my Ecoboost.

It’s a turbo thing.

I agree, I want to address a bit more serious matter. When my wife returned from the dealer after getting an oil change for the Maverick, she told me one of the other customers payed her a complimented. Maybe you can tell me what you think? If a midget compliments the smell of your hair, is that sexual harassment?
I hope MavMeister25 reads this post and considers continuing to share his experiences with the mileage in different driving conditions as that kind of information is right up my alley.

Made me realize that, especially as you approach speeds over 70, wind is a MASSIVE factor in mpg.

Just sneak up behind a big rig real close (draft) and let him pull you along! 😉

I did that when I drove my first smart car back from Albuquerque. Ended up getting 2 rock chips in the windshield. ☹ Everytime the semi drifted on to the shoulder and kicked up rocks. The draft would pull stones into the slipstream.
The rock chip I got on the windshield of my Maverick. I got behind a bus just before I pulled over to pass, coming back from the Grand Canyon.

Never heard of or considered that before. How did you discover this information? 🤔

I had a friend get killed doing that.

The big truck ran over a loose pick up truck tail gate. It killed him instantly. He was one car length behind the 52 ft trailer.

Not everybody can play nice with the wild ones. I’ll never grow up, I’d rather die.
And I am aware that we all will get to do that someday. Sooner for some.
