I found that the trip odometers only have 4 digits to show the display. My trip 2, has never been reset, when it advanced from 9999 to 0000, my thoughts were the same as yours, reset? All the other info on trip 2 stayed the same , just put a 1 in front of the trip 2 miles.

How is it easier to ask a forum question, wait, check responses, easier than just doing a search?

I'll post, wait, check for responses; Oh wait, I just searched. It's not.
Today on MTC: Florida man makes snarky post. Build some karma dude... all of us need folks to exercise a bit of patience with us as we age...

Now that I have a significant amount of miles (5k in 4 months, far more round trips between Green Valley and Álamos than is normal), I can say that the calculated and screen are less than 1/2 a mile per gallon difference. The checks are always done in Arizona, as I don't bother with calculating in Mexico becuase the gas pumps often read high.

<corrected as I omitted a few key words>

Never use Trip 2 for any “trips”. I use Trip 2 to monitor mileage since last oil change.

I was talking to my 80 year old dad (who was borderline brilliant in my youth), and he was trying to figure out how much rope he needed. He said 2 single digit numbers (like 5 & 7), and I said, "Just add those together and you have what you need." About 5 seconds went by, and he said, "What is that?" I said, "It's 12."

He responded that he just wasn't as sharp as he used to be. He's 90 now, and we still talk football, he still drives well, still remembers things I told him last week, still gets around, and is completely independent. But some things get harder as you get older. Sage said he was old. Maybe he just needs/wants a little help.

I don't understand why people keep giving other people a hard time for asking a question rather than looking it up themselves. If coming here and asking a question and waiting for the answer is harder than looking it up himself, maybe you should commend him for taking the harder route. :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

And what's the threshold? Look in the manual for 5 minutes before asking online? 10 minutes? Surfing the net for 10 minutes (because seniors are so adept at the internet) and then asking? Then he's wasted twice as much time to get the answer.

Just let people ask easy questions. It gives other people who love helping a chance to help. It's a win-win. :thumbsup:

All this... illbeit, an enjoyable read and still you didn't help the OP, either. Okay, lesson learned.

Thanks for calling it an enjoyable read. Seriously. I was trying to put forth my view without being harsh.

Multiple folks had already helped with his original post. I was helping (or trying to help) with something else. :)
