Did the first oil change today on my hybrid, 3200 km, and installed a Stahlbus oil drain valve. Looks well made, and lots of clearance around the drain hole.

Wasn't pleased about the colour of the oil coming out, looks like a lot of metallic particles suspended. If I was doing it again the first change would have been done right after break in. DEFINITELY don't want to start a discussion about timing oil changes though, just my 2 cents.

Nice. No muss no fuss. And it fits without any adapter unlike the fumoto.

Much prefer this design to Fumoto, thank you for posting! The M12x1.75mm was a perfect fit it looks like, there's other models that keep the cap attached via cable lead, it'd be nice to see that on the SB-210131 just so there's no fumbling around for the cap at the end of the service
direct amazon link for anyone looking for it

4th picture on Amazon has directions. I didn't know either. Looks like it comes with a hose that screws in and opens the valve.

Looks nice. I'd buy one for around $25, but not $47.

You can buy from Stahlbus-USA directly, based in CA and ship with USPS. Came out around $42 instead of Amazon's higher price and slower shipping

Looks nice. I am spoiled I guess when the local Honda dealer would change the oil for 24.99 semi synthetic. My days of crawling under a vehicle are over I am afrais.

Remove the cap and twist on the supplied fitting with the hose attached. The fitting opens the check valve.

Cheers.

Most European heavy equipment use something like this. Volvo, Hamm, Wirtgen, and Leibehrr etc to name a few. They seem to hold up in that environment so it should be fine in the auto world. I like the Fumoto more and that too is found in heavy equipment and the only reason is that you don’t have to go looking for the fitting to drain the oil only a flip of a lever is needed.

I have Fumoto valves on 2 cars, they are slow af to drain - like 45 mins to an hour. They are definitely nice to have, but I wish they drained faster. I wonder if the Stahlbus drains faster?

I am going to pick one of these up today. Looks like the right choice.

Installed my Stahlbus valve at 2500mi, first oil change. Held up very well through the following 10k miles and two oil changes since. Much better than unscrewing the old plug and splashing oil everywhere just push in the fitting, twist to lock, and the oil releases. When getting the underbody shield down is a job enough, it's nice to make the actual letting as easy as possible.
