Do you think if enough owners ask for it, Ford would create a software update that allows owners to turn off all computer assists by long pressing the T/C button. Like every other vehicle on the planet..... When there's 8 in of snow on the ground I want that crap turned off. I want the truck to do exactly what I tell it to do, gas, brake, steering wheel under my complete control! I've lived in the Midwest my whole life and know how to drive in the snow and can't fathom how the ability to turn off traction control and stability assists isn't an option. I don't need no modes.

No. It's a liability issue, and I think it's also federally mandated. I don't think any other manufacturer would respond to such a request, either.

I agree, sometimes, I want to do the driving not the vehicle.

Isn't there a button that turns it off? What is the button that is a wheel and snow but looks like a snail?

That button turns off T/C only, then you have to pick your mode. There is no way to disable stability control. Even in slippery mode or sand or mud, as soon as the back end of the truck starts to slide out it starts cutting power or applying brakes. I think stability control is amazing in normal driving conditions... But there are times when it needs to be turned off.

Thanks! I didn't know there was a difference. I had stability and traction control on my Camry for the last 15 years and then now on the truck and I don't think I ever noticed it doing anything so.

i agree that when you want to have a little fun it's frustrating but in the larger picture, when thing literally go sideways, it's a lifesaver.
