Recently my Maverick's sound system has been behaving oddly. I'll be listening to music via FM radio, Sirius or Pandora and all of a sudden the volume level drops noticeably. On some occasions it will come back on to normal volume after hitting a bump and at other times I have been sitting at a red light in the volume will restore itself to the proper level. What happens is the volume just drops from about level 15 on the volume control to about a level 2 or 3 without me doing anything. As I'm driving the volume will come back up to the normal level and then go back down to the level two or three. At first I thought it might be a hardware issue or a loose wire but it does this even when I'm sitting at a dead stop or just sitting in my driveway. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this and how they handled it. I don't think it has anything to do with the changeable volume settings in any of the music apps or within the infotainment settings as I've already looked at all of that.

Mine does that when I am in CarPlay mode when I get a text, call or notification on my I-Phone. I keep my volume on 15 and it will drop to 2-3 when the notification is happening. Just an FYI.

Yeah this is something totally different I'm pretty sure it's a loose connection somewhere. I've noticed in the last 2 days that it happens mostly when I hit a bump. The volume will drop immediately and then sometimes pick back up when I hit another bump. It also happened while sitting still but they may have to spend a freak occurrence.

Does it happen while talking on the phone?

If you think it's at the USB connection, I would suggest pulling the USB hub out of the dash, unplug it from the harness, clean the connections and try it again.
