You got lucky, three years ago a deer jumped across two lanes of traffic and landed on my hood while I was going 60 mph.Last night on the way back from work I hit a six point buck. He jumped the ditch and I caught his back end with the front drivers side of my maverick. I’ve had the maverick 11 months and put on 27,000 miles. I plan to take to a Ford approved collision center. Let me know if you have any other tips, I have submitted a claim to my insurance and am waiting to hear back. I’ve heard parts take awhile to receive and are expensive. Any guesses on what this is going to cost to repair? I’m expecting a new bumper and headlight at minimum. The gap between the hood and fender also have me concerned there could be more.

Overall a very easy event. No airbags deployed, I was able to roll to a stop in an exit lane, and the deer didn't even get gutted.
BUT: My car was totaled, and someone else got venison for dinner that night.
