Silvers-NA Coilovers

Just now my new Silvers-NA arrived. Very excited to try these out. They are their normal version. These will replace my Scales low version which have, imho, a horrible ride quality due to the front being way to bouncy no matter how they are adjusted.

The Silvers look fantastic! The Scales color theme is a tad nicer but the Silvers seem built better. On the rear springs Silvers use not only a rubber foot to reduce any chance of noise from metal on metal like the Scales, but they also have an internal abs collar that protects and prevents the spring from inadvertently coming in contact with the threads of the adjuster/lower collar. Pics really don't do these justice as they are very nice beefy quality. The only things I don't really like is how the rear shock mounts to the upper shock mounting location. I prefer how the oem and the Scales use the oem cap with plastic cover but it won't effect anything other than my OCD.

The only other thing I am not a fan of is that these didn't come with mounting hardware to mount the front coilover mounts to the upper mount. Ya gotta use the oem hardware to fasten them. That's nit-picking seriously. Other than these 2 minor things... I cannot wait to get these installed and dialed in! Any questions I'll do my best to answer them for you. I'll share my thoughts of ride quality after installation, hopefully this Sunday.

Really looking forward to watching this. After the reports of the poor ride quality I skipped Scales and went the easy route with Eibach.

Trying not to put those on my '22 because my '23 should be here mid January. But if there's enough convincing I may pony up and buy a set of Silvers. The Eibachs just aren't going to be low enough to make me happy.

Yeah I know what you mean. I had the H&R Escape springs on before and though the truck rode really nicely, that extra lil wheel well gap in front drove me crazy.

I was talking with @Volknuts and how nice it would be if someone like Maxtrac came out with drop spindles. That would be pretty awesome and open alot of adjustment when using coils as your base drop before suspension geometry would change would be about 2".... then with the coilovers you just fine tune it without having to bottom them out for a lower stance.

Dropped spindles for FWD (or lowered knuckles for AWD/4WD) seem to be like hen's teeth.

I've been lowering almost everything I own since the late 80's and I completely agree; a well engineered suspension component would be well received by the Maverick community!

I think they told me 10k in front and 8k rear

Did the soft and hard nob change the ride at all?? Also the 4 bolts on the strut, camber adjustment need adjusting? I figured you can't adjust the 4 bolts once its installed.

Your rear coils look larger and/or closer to OEM than mine. Mine resemble the coils they put on the front coilover assembly; not sure if that's because I got the "superlow" option or not

EDIT: yes, there are different rear springs for the regular and superlow kits
